♥♡♥ Yep, grey skies changed my plans yesterday morning! I did spring cleaning till nearly 12:00! I ate lunch, and then brushed Deacon and Rocket-fly sprayed and turned them out. I got Whiskey next and bathed him! He looked so pretty...after that I was tired, plum pooped!! So I relaxed and watched them graze. Had some Sadie time today. We both need it everyday. It's getting hot here, so I didn't ride. I put the halter on her and walked her off the property. She was a little nervous, so we took it slow, stopping when she needed to to look around and see that she was okay. Neighborhood dogs were barking at us. She walked a little fast on the way back to the house. Had to keep stopping her to slow her down. She loved it. Going to walk her more often to get her use going off the property. Going to work up to riding her. Last time I rode her off the property, she was nervous and wanted to fight me. She should trust me more now. Hugs and a vote. Went out to check on Sadie when I got home from work last night. She'd torn her fly mask off. It lasted 10 days. Hope to someday move away from the egg ranch. The flies are horrible. I hope all of you moms had a beautiful Mother's Day. I had to work, but didn't mind. Being a mom and loving my sons and they loving me in return is what makes it so special. An emotional week this week. My oldest son, a Msgt in the Air Force, leaves the end of this week for 3 years in Germany. He and his oldest son celebrate their birthdays this week, too. Sadie's a handful. She does need to be worked with a lot. Wish my time wasn't so limited. Looking forward to the day when I can have more time with her. She deserves it. Sassy Miss Sadie's doing good. She's keeping her fly mask on, but has torn holes in it. I dumped her water trough out to clean it and found her old fly mask in it, again. While I filled the trough with fresh water, she blew bubbles in it. So silly. Heat's hitting triple degrees next week. Time to buy another misting system. Big hi to all. Jessica came out Wednesday with her boyfriend, David. Sadie was bad. While Jessica picked her hooves, Sadie yanked her back hoof away. She bucked a couple of times, too, when Jessica rode her. She did okay with me. The strap on the saddle pinched a bruise on the inside of my left knee. Shouldn't have worn shorts. Found the missing fly mask, too. Jessica and I dumped Sadie's water trough to clean it out, and there it was. It had sunk to the bottom of the trough. I didn't think to check there. Big hi. Sadie's doing well. I didn't get anytime with her Monday. I'm sure she's mad. I sent Austin's hair to Locks Of Love Monday morning. We went to his induction into the National Honor Society Monday night. It was an amazing experience. I'm so proud of him. Love to each of you and a quick vote. ✞ “Meeting of the minds” I posted this picture to honor one of the first responders firefighter/EMS Perry Calvin is the brother to “Paige Calvin” who rides with us. Her horse is the 2nd one to the right-May her brother rest in peace…
I have missed my HC family! My thoughts and prayers have and are with my sweet little town of West, Texas…I am sending thoughts and prayers to Boston with the bombing and everything that has gone on in their area. Me and Cliff, our kitties, our dog and of course our beautiful horses are ok physically, now mentally we are very tired and we have a longggg way to go here in our community. The support from around the world is so awesome. To see all people come together as they have here with this disaster is truly amazing. Again thank you to all of you for your support and checking on me and my animal family I love you all! My horses were very confused that night, wide eyed and heads held high as they ran circles and would stop and look toward Cliff in I as if to say “mom, Dad, is everything ok?” then run circles again-stop-look at us-and circle again! They did this nonstop for nearly 20 to 30 minutes. They to saw and felt the explosion so I wonder what really went through their minds….Remember to hold and love your family –including your pet family every day and tell them you love them, you never know what could happen. This disaster has changed my life forever!

Had a busy day, Wednesday. Jessica came out to ride Sadie. Afterward, I picked Austin up at school. He got his long hair cut for Locks of Love. We met friends at Cracker Barrel for dinner. I forgot and left my keys in the car. Had to call someone to get my car unlocked. Went shopping for Austin some clothes for his induction into the National Honor Society on Monday the 22nd. Sadie's a brat. The nice weather has brought the nasty flies back. Austin put her fly mask on Thursday evening. By Friday morning, Sadie was wearing it sideways. If only it was possible to glue it on.... I had her out of the corral Thursday. A man came out to do an annual check up on the air conditioner. She was doing her version of helping him. She had to say hello to him, see what he was doing, and check out his tools. Scruffy was there, too. I had to make them both leave the poor guy alone. 4 legged nosy critters. Love and a vote. Bad winds last Monday. I took a trash bag and picked up trash that had blown around the yard, Thursday. Sadie followed me every step of the way. It was nice spending time with her. She's so amazing.
