Happy Sunday!
I hope you get to bring Brandy home soon!
Well, today it's snowing some more, but I like it! After church I will go out to the stables to see Luna, and go riding if it's not too icy. I keep snowballs from accumulating in her hoofs out by preparing them beforehand. When I clean them with a hoof pick, I then make sure they're free of dirt by brushing them with a wire brush. Then I spray them with cooking oil (yes, like Pam LOL) all over the bottom of the hoof, and especially on the frog and sole. Since oil and water don't mix, it does a pretty good job of cutting down on the snow balls. It's not perfect, but it works fairly well. But I won't ride when it's windy or wet, or if it's just too darn cold hahaha. When the weather is too nasty or cold, I just brush her (quickly!) and spend a few minutes petting her. The colder it is, the less time I pet her LOL.
It's Super Bowl night tonight! I don't care about football, but I want to see the new Clydesdale commercial. I always love those. I hope you have a great Sunday. I left you a vote, and as always, Have a horsey day!

Long time no see! I know it's been a long time since I wrote in the blogs, but I'm here to catch up. Have you been able to bring Brandy home yet? I hope so.
Guess what? I found my own horse on Whinny Warz!! I've been playing that game for over a year, and suddenly, while I was playing this morning, THERE SHE WAS! Plus, I got 500 points for finding her.
I hope the new year has been good to you so far. I have lots of riding plans for once the weather improves, but for now, I'm just doing ground work and trick training. It's actually pretty fun.

Congratulations!!!
I had a great day today, we reached a high of almost 30 degrees! I took advantage of the nice weather and rode Misty, Dakota and Scout. Misty had been running around a bunch before I caught her so she was wore down a bit once I rode her which was nice. Today instead of lunging Sierra I ponied her off of Misty. She did very good and for the first time she loped without bucking or trying to get away. I took Dakota for a nice long gallop, boy can that little guy go! Once I was done riding Dakota Ethan wanted to ride too so I saddled Scout and we took them for a ride down the road. The horses must enjoy the warmer weather because they all behaved so good today. I dont really like the new HC but I guess I will get used to it eventually. I hope that none of you will stop coming on because of the change.

this new HC is like CC. much easier for me than DC, which i've totally stopped visiting. i rode sing last night. a little W/T while teaching a lesson. smooch was ridden by my 11 yr old rider. he was moving out pretty good for her since it was cold. he tends to be slow and lazy usually. good kids horse.Come visit me, Sing & Herd Keeping CHRISTmas Spirit!.

I had another great ride on Scout today, he is such a nice relaxing horse to ride. I never have to worry about him spooking at anything, he is virtually bombproof. Once I was done riding him I went to my aunts place to work with Misty and Sierra. I saddled Sierra again and had a great lunging session with her. Once I was done lunging her I let her loose to run around the pasture with the saddle on and she didn't do any bucking, she is really getting used to the saddle. Once I was done with Sierra I rode Misty. She wasn't listening to me and kept on rearing every time I wouldn't let her go where she wanted to. I usually ride her with my newer, more comfortable saddle but today I rode her with my old saddle, so I'm not sure if that had something to do with it or if she just wasn't having a good day because that kind of behavior is very out of the ordinary for her, she is usually a very well behaved horse. We got a nice break from the cold today, it got up almost 40 degrees! I hope it stays that way for a while so we can get rid of some of this snow!
