Type of Riding: Um I don't think she has had any training for riding. I'm gonna try and at least train her to carry a rider.
My Horse's Achievements: She has given birth to a foal. Also she has started to trust me.
My Horse's Favorite Treat: She enjoys sweet feed, carrots, and apples.
My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: Graze, groom her foal, eat sweet feed, and get petted on.
Pet Peeves: Being chased by the horses, having our dog sniff her, and getting sprayed with some Heazall on her gooseegg.
My Horse's motto: I give stubborn a whole new meaning.

How We Met
My horse Sugar got her tail cut and we don't know who did it. Donkeys are natural protectors so we decided to get one. A man my Dad works with has donkeys and his brother-in-law was willing to sell us one (or two)..

HI!!! Here is a Happy Easter vote for you!
I am so happy to be able to blog and vote! Saturday I got my job list caught up and the brace is helping with the swelling, pain, & numbness. I have missed interacting with you all. I will blog and vote often as I can depending on my physical situation.
Saturday afternoon we went to the farm to take pics of my brothers and their friend as they rode out. I rode Buttercup in the field, well, my brother lead me on her. When he got her she did not like anyone. Now, she knows who he is and she only wants to listen to him! I could not ride her without him leading her. I did not want to get into a tussle with her either because my wrist are weak. I did enjoy the short ride in the field though!!!
Fancy's wound continues to improve. I was afraid to let her get her kicks out, but I let her out for a while Friday. She ran! Bucked, kicked, & ran more! There was NO limping, no swelling, no bleeding. I did put some bell boots on her before I let her out. Does any one know if it is ok to allow her to wear bell boots all day or night? I took them off when I put her back in the stall. The bell boots covers that wound so I think they will help if I leave her out. I don't know anything about bell boots because I have never used them.
If you saw our last video, don't worry, Fancy was not in any danger. Fancy has been goin up them stairs since she was 10 months old. When we go there more often she walks up them better than I do. They are in the park and there is grass on both sides. I never let her walk down. I think the pool noodle getting under her leg made her feel funny because the first time she was unsure. After I

When Austin got home from school Monday, I asked how his day went. He replied somber. Said he wouldn't be needing the extra lunch he took to school everyday. His friend, Eric, who he shared with, committed suicide last Monday during spring break. I didn't know Eric, but felt I did through Austin. We're both having a hard time dealing with it. Austin more than me, of course. He said Eric was talented, funny and had a lot of potential. Heartbreaking. Saying a prayer for his family and all who've been hurt by this. Leaving a hug and a vote. Sadie's doing good. Scruffy keeps her company, whether she wants him to or not. Since he's the only dog, and she's the only horse, he's bonded with her. He likes to sleep on her hay close to the corral. I don't think the feelings are mutual. He seems to get on her nerves when he barks for her to chase him. Busy night at work. Love and a tired vote. Had a nice afternoon. I let Sadie out of her corral to enjoy another afternoon of freedom. Austin and Rick decided to play toss with a Nerf football. Rick tossed it to Sadie. She didn't care for that anymore than she did for the Frisbee, so she ran to her hay. She's just not into sports. Love to you all. Hugs and a vote. Getting Sadie's hooves done in a couple of weeks. Can't believe how fast they've grown out. Had a fun horsey day. Austin tried to get her to play Frisbee with him. Scruffy loves Frisbee, but most dogs do. Sadie, not at all. Don't expect her to enjoy anything that's tossed at her, unless it's food. She got a good workout from all the running. Here's a vote from Fancy & Trigger.
Have you ever heard of Underwoods Horse medicine or ever used it? I was going to get a picture of Fancy's wound, but it just has a scab on it. She is not showing any signs of lameness. I know Fancy will run, kick, & buck up a storm so I leave her in the stall to keep her from aggravating that wound before the new flesh grows in.

Had Sadie out of the corral, so she could enjoy some freedom and get some exercise. Scruffy was fussing at her about his dog food. She went for it, and he stopped her. I tried to help her to understand that a large black trash bag won't hurt her. I held it out to her, she checked it out and, then, hauled butt like it snapped at her. Austin tried to get her to play frisbee. That didn't go over well. She didn't like it, of course. She did love the attention. Need to ride. Hugs and a vote. Finally a warm sunny day to have fun with my horses! Sierra was great for lungeing with the saddle, didn't try to buck once.I led her around with Ethan on her back for a few minutes and she was great, didn't mind him at all. I wasn't planning on putting anything on her back besides a saddle until she is at least 2 but my uncle who knows a lot about horses said that it would be fine for Ethan to ride her a bit. She will be 2 in a couple months. We have almost a foot of snow on the ground but it is like 35* degrees today so some of it is melting. I cant wait until spring! I have noticed when I am brushing the horses that they are already starting to shed. Hope you are enjoying your weekend and getting in some horsey time! It has been very miserable the last couple days, cold and very windy. Yesterday I did work with Sierra for a short time and cleaned out Misty and Sierra's shed. By that time I was about frozen so I wasn't able to do much more than that. Today is supposed to be cold but not as windy so hopefully I can do some riding. I am sick of winter! Hope you are having a great day! We had a horseclub meeting tonight!
Fancy has cabin fever like never before!!! Trigger will stand beside the stall gate to be near Fancy. He went to stand there while she was eating her grain and she tried to kick him. She seems to get angry when he is eating hay and she can't stop him. I can just tell what she is thinking. She wants to boss him around so bad! Trigger has the chance to not be beat up and bossed around but, when I tie Fancy out to clean her stall, Trigger stands right at her hip and sniffs her botty. He must be some kind of crazy!

We had a nice Christmas. Looking forward to a Christmas with my oldest son, Eric, and his family someday. He's in the Air Force and is stationed in Georgia. He's in the desert this year. I'm finally on. I'll try do better about being on everyday possible. Thanks for remembering Sadie. And thanks for your words of kindness. My foot is better.
