Into the new year with COWBOY & TRIGGER, the Young Prince & King of January 2013 ♛
Here is a wintery weekend vote! Friday morning it began to hail, which lasted for half the day. School dismissed early and we were in for the day. This was ok for me because I worked all day Friday and Friday evening. Cowboy was busy with the usual boy things. Nothing stopped Fancy and Trigger from munching their hay, except a bucket of grain coming their way. I sure would like to have a little bit of snow! Cowboy says he is ready for his very first ride in the snow! That is an event I look forward to also.
Do you feed more grain or hay during the winter months. I read that horses need more hay during the winter. I cut back on their grain just a little to see if they would eat more hay. They did eat hay, but Trigger seems to need the grain to keep his weight on. I think Fancy looks better with her usual amount of grain also. So I am giving them their normal grain amount with all the hay they want, and they look better again.
LITTLE COWBOY CLASS/ Word of the day: Head Shy - A reluctance to use the public restrooms at a horse show. Always applies to pit toilets.

Cowboy and Trigger won January HOTM!!!!! And I can't wait to spring it on them when he wakes up!!! Cowboy's will be 12 years old January 7th, this is one of the best early birthday presents ever! I can not call him LITTLE Cowboy anymore, now I shall call him Cowboy. I am sure he will want to go out into the rain to give Trigger treats!
