♡ a click on your horseshoe FROM A REGULAR COMPUTER NOT MY PHONE!! Our weather was a little strange this weekend. It was cloudy and rained (lightly) most of Saturday morning. By the afternoon it cleared and was sunny, but it was like that Sunday morning but no rain just fog and then cleared. We went Friday after work to Lake Whitney to visit some friends we ride with. They were camping because he is to have surgery this week and didn’t know when they would get back out. Had a nice visit. My horsey time was spent at home and out in the property around us. Yep-had to break out the fly spray, not any around the face these are the biting ones that get their legs---I hate them!!!! #3 turn out has all “t” post in (27), now we need to put up the wire and add the gates. ✞ “Meeting of the minds” I posted this picture to honor one of the first responders/EMS Perry Calvin is the brother to “Paige Calvin” who rides with us. Her horse is the 2nd one to the right-May her brother rest in peace…
I have missed my HC family! My thoughts and prayers have and are with my sweet little town of West, Texas…I am sending thoughts and prayers to Boston with the bombing and everything that has gone on in their area. Me and Cliff, our kitties, our dog and of course our beautiful horses are ok physically, now mentally we are very tired and we have a longggg way to go here in our community. The support from around the world is so awesome. To see all people come together as they have here with this disaster is truly amazing. Again thank you to all of you for your support and checking on me and my animal family I love you all! My horses were very confused that night, wide eyed and heads held high as they ran circles and would stop and look toward Cliff in I as if to say “mom, Dad, is everything ok?” then run circles again-stop-look at us-and circle again! They did this nonstop for nearly 20 to 30 minutes. They to saw and felt the explosion so I wonder what really went through their minds….Remember to hold and love your family –including your pet family every day and tell them you love them, you never know what could happen. This disaster has changed my life forever!

Glad you like the pics!
It snowed all day yesterday so I wasn't able to do anything with the horses. Today a lot of schools were cancelled because of all the snow. I rode Misty and ponied Sierra, they were both great. Hopefully I can ride Dakota or Cherokee tommorow. HELLO! Hope you are enjoying spring! So much has happened with everyone!
Our club enjoyed a delightful dressage presentation Tuesday evening! I am still excited about that. I have been admiring my flower garden while Fancy grazes in the yard.
Fancy is ok now and bossing poor Trigger with all of her might. I am tons better, still experiencing some physical limitations. I am so ready to start working on our driving lessons. Cowboy and I assembled our easy entry horse cart about one year before I ever got Fancy and we have never used it. One of the tires went flat just sitting in the outbuilding. I have that pumped up now, so when Fancy & I are ready that cart will be ready!
FANCY'S PERCEPTIONS:

I almost for got, Trigger is not losing weight. I was afraid he would lose weight after I let Fancy out of her stall rest because she always runs him out of the hay. LOL. He seems to be doing fine, she is letting him eat. Hiiii!
Hi! Here is a mid week vote from Fancy and our herd!
I added a pic of Fancy's heel injury at the bottom of our page. She is out of the stall leaping, bucking, & running hard!
I think Trigger wants Fancy back in the stall. She is directing his every move, even if he can eat. Poor guy. Trigger gained weight while Fancy was in the stall. If he loses any weight, I will have to separate them so he can have some peace.
Depending on days I am physically able, I will ground drive Fancy and let her pull some things. I am excited for this!
Last Saturday my brothers rode Buttercup and Goldie. I got to ride Buttercup. Buttercup kept trying to follow my brother and she would not listen to me. She wanted to have a temper tantrum, so my brother lead her around so I could ride here. I felt like a little kid. But at least I got to ride. LOL.
I wanted to ride Goldie, but after I saw her behavior, I was fearful for my brother to ride her. Goldie is dangerously buddy sour, I tried to hold the reins so he could tack her up. But she pushes you with her body and neck and she will not listen to instruction. She will turn her butt to push you and try to run past you. I think that means she will kick if she wants too. I had to ask Buttercup's owner (my other brother) to hold Goldie because, Goldie made my wrists hurt. I don't want to ride Goldie anymore. She needs some schooling! My brother had a time getting on her but when he was finally on her, they started out rough until she was under her buddy. He had to keep them two together so he could hope for a peaceful ride.

Yep it's that time of the year! Outside totally!!!
♥ Nonstop rain here! We sure needed it. I let the herd out (front turnout-has grass already) for around 15 to 30 minutes after work yesterday. (Turnout 2 & 3 are the ones that just got seeded) Boy did they have fun! Kicking up their heels, rearing and playing then the speed race was on. When it is wet from rain it always scares the life out of me! It’s hard to watch when they are running so fast and they stop so quickly! In all these years I still get that feeling of “oh no!” When it is dry I don’t worry at all-it’s just fun to watch. Again-Congratulations Angel HT April 2013 HOTM!!!!

☆★☆ Good Sunday morning! Hugs and a vote… 26 MPG winds! 44 degree’s but wind chill is 34. That is cold to us but compared to you folks in northern states it probably sounds warm-lol. I apologize for being a cry baby yesterday! I will get my” tech” stuff taken care of and I have a plan!!!
Yesterday made Deacon & I’s 6th anniversary together! It was cloudy after work but no winds and I did have to wear a jacket but it was pleasant outside so I haltered up each horse one at a time and took them to this spot that is about an 8’ by 12’ area that has a lot of green grass growing. It needed mowed so each horse got 5 minutes to eat! They were in HEAVEN!!!! Then I rode Deacon bareback with just his halter to celebrate our anniversary together. We walked, then trot and I backed him and side passed both directions. I repeated this about 3 times and then he gave me his famous kisses and I hugged him and turned him loose…he is such a smooth ride! Have a great day ♥

It is nice and sunny today but only 15*. Earlier this morning I rode Misty and ponied Sierra for about an hour. Sierra was a bit fiesty at first but Misty was very patient with her and eventually she settled down. I am hoping to get a ride on Cherokee later.

♥ I had a really nice weekend filled with my horses! It was too cold Saturday and windy to ride. We ran a few errands and stopped by the tack store. I got a hackamore to try on Deacon & Whiskey and a few other odd and ends. We did what we could Saturday afternoon until it was too uncomfortable and went on inside. Sunday was the big day for riding. I rode with some friends I haven’t seen in so long. We had the best time! We rode 5-6 hours. Half way we stopped and built a fire and roasted smoke sausage for lunch. It was so nice! It is interesting how everyone has different thoughts on hackamores, bits & feed! I have always found listening to folks and then putting what I feel comfortable seems to work best for me. About ¾ ways through the ride I changed Whiskey into his regular bridle. The hackamore was to lose and I didn’t have my hole punch with me. Plus Whiskey rides best with a full bridle that has brow band and all. He rubs on the trees when we stop and tie up and that full bridle is the only way I can walk away from him like that! I will try the hackamore again when I get another headstall!! Have a wonderful week and can’t wait to hear about your weekend!!

Here's my horsey blooper!
I was riding Maze out through the pasture and we were having such a great time walking, trotting and galloping around. As I was bringing her back towards the barn to take her gear off I glanced over at my spotted pig "Porkchop". He was laying in his yard ever so still and didn't even stir as we trotted past him by the fence. My first thought was "Oh no....somethings wrong with my pig!" Still trotting and not paying attention to anything but my pig I said Whoa girl. Mazy stopped on a dime and of course I flew right over her head landing just in front of her front feet. She lowered her head and sniffed my face with a look that said "Hey mama....you alright?" I got up, rubbed her nose and told her "It's alright girl...it's not your fault." I thought I would climbe back on...it was then I realized my arm wasn't working right. I looked at it and sure enough there were tell tale signs that it was broken. I took the reins in my good hand and walked her into the barn. I felt no pain...how odd I thought to myself. When we reached the barn my hubby came running in and said " Holy crap....are you alright?" I looks at him and said "Well I think I broke my arm....it isn't working quite right." He took one look at my arm and said "I'll take care of Maze....you go get in the truck awhile." Yep....it was broken and if it hadn't been for the adrenalin rush I would have been in so much pain. The entire seven weeks in that cast seemed like a lifetime. I still went down and brushed her and hugged up on her everyday but didn't ride because I'm right handed and had a heck of a time learning to do anything with my left hand. I truely believe that those seven weeks were good for the both of us...we spent alot of time just hanging out and our bond seemed to get even stronger than before. I've learned a very valuble lesson through this....Ignore the Pig! lolCome visit me, Mazy & Ruger.

Funny Falling Stories
As of yet I have never fallen off a horse :) Of course, I've only ridden 3 or 4 times :( But my sister did fall off once, and it was hilarious.
We had just gotten Thalia, and didn't have a saddle yet. She got on bareback, and just wanted to sit there for a minute before she started moving. I was holding the lead rope, and so after a second I lead Thalia forward two feet. My sister went right off the back :) It was pretty funny :)

I feel/leaped off my first horse when she took off with me on a long stretch, she was running full speed towards a steep drop off and would not stop. Right before we reached the end I jumped off and landed on my rear and she stopped and looked down at me like she really thought I wanted to keep going with her down that drop off.
Here's a vote from Fancy & Trigger.
Have you ever heard of Underwoods Horse medicine or ever used it? I was going to get a picture of Fancy's wound, but it just has a scab on it. She is not showing any signs of lameness. I know Fancy will run, kick, & buck up a storm so I leave her in the stall to keep her from aggravating that wound before the new flesh grows in.
