My 2 dead baby bunnies did make it. I stuck them in my bra, to help warm them up then headed back to the house and heated up water in an old fashion, hot water bottle. Brought Mama in later, and she is enjoying all the attention. But her new home is a tote, large one but still not big enough. But very cold out again tonight, water frozen solid over night in buckets. Everything looks like the "great white north". Temps should start a "slow" warm up.
Baby chicks are hatching, so I put geese eggs in the other incubator, they can not hatch in there, because of their high heads, they would burn themselves on the heating elements or get tangled in the fan. I was a day off on the chicks, but at least they are doing something even if there was spike in temperature that one day.

Since, you must not have snow any more, how much of the 19 inches we have received would you like?? Better wait it is still snowing, we got plowed out later this afternoon, but now it is all drifted back up. One place North of us got 27 inches in 2 days.
Had to bring Hooper and her new babies into the house. This morning found 2 of them "dead" ice cold. Put them in my bra, to see if I could warm them up a bit, soon I felt scratching and poor little things must have been hurting as they warmed up. I brought them in and made an old fashion hot water bottle from a jar, and soon they were both moving around. Only about 3-4 days old. So Mike help me carry her and the rest of the babies in 7 in total, put them in a tote, with as much fur from her nest as possible, the rest of that fuzzy hair, ended up on my gloves and sleeves. Hooper does not mind being in a tote, but not as much room as her cage.
Winds are still blowing, and everything was white, sometimes today it looked just like a beautiful Christmas card, until I remember it will soon be May. 6 months of winter this year.

Mother Nature sure has her head mixed up. I looks and feels like the middle of a January blizzard. Had 9 inches by 5 pm, and winds are strong right out of the North Pole. Feels like I should be getting ready for Christmas. We did have a few nice days awhile back, temps were in high 30's and low 40's, one day even seen 49, that must have been summer. I wasted those days cleaning chicken coop out, along with bunny pens, and brushing the horses, here I could have been laying in the snow sun bathing. Snow never melted yet, ground still frozen, south side of the house and around the trees snow is gone, but came back today.
Dominic and a friend of his from school spent Friday night here, plans were for the whole weekend, but late today we ran them home, because of all the snow. Mass or Church was cancelled too. Sadie sure enjoys having Dominic here, because she gets to sleep on his bed with him. Little Chance went home, my sister and hubby were gone for 7 weeks. She said he got fat, but I told her he excepts pancakes for breakfast, sometime oatmeal and eggs with cheese would be great, and he loves cookies and graham crackers too.
Put another batch of eggs in lockdown yesterday, so by Monday, I will see what I get. Incubator "spiked" one day, but hopefully it did not kill all the baby ones.

It's great to be back on HC. Still have snow, around Easter we received 9 plus another 8 a few days later. Temps are not bad, 30's mostly, but fall down to 0 or -1 at nights.
Baby bunnies are getting bigger, also have 2 more batches. Horses are sure getting ready to be let out, but can not even get gates out of frozen ground. More rain or snow coming, we are in winter weather watch. Have about 25 baby chicks, and the geese and duck eggs I was incubating for a friend hatched out 4 geese and 1 little duck, out of 6 and 2. My geese and ducks are not even started laying....they must know the weather is not right. Normally, geese start end of February, first part of March.

Sending quick votes. Weather has been nice, well, for March. Got a little snow the last few days, temps have been in the 30's. Can not wait for spring, so I am starting spring myself, got my incubator(s) down, so I can try to hatch out some geese eggs for a friend. Mary's geese nor ducks have laid an egg "yet". Getting about 5-8 chicken eggs each day, so may put some of them in too. Still have plenty of snow, snowmobiles are going full blast yet. Next week we should get back in the 40's. Baby bunnies are so soft, but of course do not like to be picked up. Around the 20-21 the other 2 does should have their babies, and later the dwarf pair. Will have plenty of bunnies for the swaps or to sell.
Hope everyone is doing OK. Getting on HC was sort of hard, I am doing this from Google. Int. Explorer works, (most of the time) but keeps not responding, and it takes forever.

I finally got on again. Bit Internet Explorer, keeps going down, and I have to start over again. Wish Horse Ill. would fix this problem, of err messages. Still can not log in the way I use to. What works one day, does not work the next.
Hope you did not get too much snow and bad weather. I know we got 7 inches or so, but that is sort of normal for us. Today was at least 34, and nights have been 0 or below. Baby bunnies are starting to come out of the nest, and are just so stinking cute. I have Angie's dogs here again as well as Chance, but everyone gets along. Dominic was here for the weekend, his phone broke, so we took him to a Version store, I know he had his heart set on a new one, but that would bring his bill up to 80 dollars, and we just could not afford it, but he did settle on turning his in for the insurance, until we could save up for another one. Been thinking of going to see what Walmart offers, and how much a month it would cost there. Right now, with the internet on his smart phone it is 49 dollars, (that with insurance). Unlimited text, minutes, and 8 people share the cost of the package deal, we pay for Tristan and Dominic' part.
Hope I can make it on tomorrow.

You must be a "true horse lover" too. Can tell the horse, but not sure of the owner. Or like "Cisco's Mom". Hope you terrible weather is over, for a bit. We are just starting a winter storm warning, but to ??? inches of snow. They keep changing the amount. But it is coming down from Canada covering most of Minnesota, so we will just have to deal with it. Winds are very bad, right now just light snow.
We went to do chores by Mike and Jennifer's, she had a dentist appointment in Eau Claire.....I told her we could pull her tooth even if it did not need pulling, and Mikey has his yearly check up for his transplants. I think maybe 9 yrs. Time goes fast. Chickens did not get to go out today, because they just might blow away. I could not get on last night, not sure why, did the same thing this afternoon, wish HV would fix what is wrong.

Weather certainly is a "up and down" thing lately. In the teens here, but now snowing. We went to a "Happy Hour" wake this afternoon for a guy that Mike worked with for 20 some yrs. He has been in the nursing home the last 5 yrs or so. We stop in the seen him when ever we were down that way, and sometime Mike would take him out for lunch. He did not want any service, but want people to come and have a drink to send him on his way. First time Mike has had a drink in over 30 some yrs.
Mom's blood pressure was up to 210 over ??, but today was 139/76 and she said she was feeling better. I called this morning, but no information on head scan then, so will call again tomorrow morning. We left around 2 to go to the wake for Russ, so if anyone called they did not leave a message.
Some baby bunnies, not sure how many, I put my hand into the nest when we got home and could feel them. I gave her some fresh hay yesterday, put her water and feed dishes way to one side, (she is in a large water tank with racks on top and then heavy floor rugs) and where does this silly mother make her nest right where she should not have, next to the water dish. I was just out there and added a heat light but it seemed warm inside the tank. Put it up far enough to add a bit of heat, but not where she could reach it.

Wow...I have heard of 0 to 60 in nothing flat, but 70 to 0, well to 32 that is sure something.....Mother Nature showing off again. That is hard to take 70 degree and then snow...ugh!!!
Rain to freezing rain and snow is so hard on the animals, even the 2 legged kind.
Took Mom is to dr today, she said yesterday she did not feel good, pain in her lower head, not her neck, we went over and fed her dog Sam for her. Nurse told me she was all confused, and did not know what pills she took.....I said she was just fine before that when we drove in with her. Here she was not wearing her hearing aids....most of the puzzle solved, but still have to hear back on what caused her head pain, they did a head scan. Her blood pressure was high today.
Rabbit seem to be making a nest. This rabbit does have a name, but something like Annabelle or Julian, ??? I know male was Oscar....what names. All the trees were dressed in their sparkles and stay dressed all day, very beautiful but so cold and windy again.

Our feedstore is about the same 60 miles round trip. We have a few small towns around us, but no feed store. Ladysmith is the closest.....oh, I should not say that. Kennan, has a feedstore too, but only deal in small size bags, unless you are a farmer, they can get 100 pound bags. The small bags cost way more, so we just keep going to Ladysmith/Tony to buy.

How far do you have to go to the feedstore. When out local feedstore would grind it's own feed, I loved the smells of molasses, and corn/oats. Now, they buy the feed from one that is still local, but only sells to feed stores.
We will be getting snow tomorrow, 1-5 inches. Today was in the high 20's but once again spoiled by those sharp cold winds. Like, if you make it around the corner of the house, you can make it to the barn, but you have to hold your breath before you get to the corner. Joe, cut 2 more truck loads of wood, and Mike and Dominic filled them up. Will get more as we need it, and Joe has the time. Went to Mom's for a few hours, then took Dominic home.
I moved the naughty guinea hens, (I think 3 males) into the back of the shed. They seem to like to attack the chickens, and Mr. Roo does nothing about it. But I have about 5 younger chicken hens, that these g. hen males grew up with without tail feathers, left 3-4 smaller g. hens, (I think females) in there, also open the small room inside the coop, to let out the youngest g.hens, so they can start learning to socialize. Tomorrow, if temps are up, I will put the g. hen from the basement back in with it's friends. It does not do that "twisting" of it's head and neck anymore.

Was in the 20's today, but sort of windy and damp feeling. Been gone nearly all day, left for the funeral before 10, it was big, but Aunt Helen have a big family, 8 kids, and now even great great grandchildren. Uncle Andy, was in a wheelchair, but still remembers everyone. Last time I was up to see them in the nursing home, he was walking, but nursing homes don't want the old people walking fearing that they might fall.
Probably going to cut firewood tomorrow, in the morning. Dominic is here for the night, he lost in sectionals today, but still that is good.

I think most rabbits have 6-7 babies, sort of like cats, but I should have ask Big Jax Mom, she said they had around 300 rabbits growing up. I do not generally raise rabbits, just pets, but this yr. I plan on trying to sell some at the swaps. But once we had a mother rabbit have 9 of them.
Precious is fine, I check in for redness or infection, so far so good. Washed all the dogs and cat's blankets, and rugs today, to make sure they will not cause any germs to make her sick. She acts like before, but, so far the basement light has not been turned on by her. Before she would be on her bed, (cushions from the couch stacked up) and then jump up and catch the string from the light. The worst thing is, when I ask you did it, she just acts, like "what I did not do anything". Silly Kitten.
Today was very cold again, in the afternoon, winds really picked up. We went out and cut a load of firewood, mostly stuff where they are harvesting the timber, but they only take the main part of the tree, so we get a permit and can pick home a load or two a day.

Too bad you could not box/bag up then sell all that hot air to people in the winter time. You would be one rich woman.
We were up in the 40's earlier today, watered and feed Mikey's calves and then stopped by Mom to drop off her garage tubs, (we pick up her cans and recyclables for her), cut up a tree in our pastures and by then it was getting cooler and "felt" like rain. Heard on the weather report, our snow measures are down about 7 inches, not sure if they mean that fell or what is left after 3 days of warmer weather, but tonight temps will fall down below zero again.
Tomorrow I will add more hay to the water tank for the rabbit just incase she will be having babies. Yep it takes about 28-30 days for rabbits, I remember, and still laugh about that because our kids had rabbits for 4-H, and figured they could have 12 batches of baby bunnies a year...they multiply fast enough.

Near 70 that's summer to us. Last year we did not have many hot days. Funny comic strip, Mike uses the smoke from the outdoor stove for his wind gauge. So far so good with Precious, she did want to go down into the basement with Grizzly this morning, but I am keeping an eye on her.
Took Mom into Ladysmith today, because it was so nice outside. She said she could not see wasting the day doing cross word puzzles. She had to pick up her pills, and it was a nice day. Mother Nature really outdid herself.....I take back all....well, some of the nasty things I said about her. :). Seen 41 one time and NO wind, and plenty of sunshine. Hopefully, we did not hog all this good weather and some of it will reach the east coast, so if it gets to Paige, Rocky, and Big Jax, remember the Queen Whisper had a little hoof in it.
Hear my guinea hen trying to sing in the basement again. Took the female rabbit back outside, a few days ago, I noticed some hair clumps, like as if making a nest. I was way below zero then, but not babies, which I did not think so, because she was never loose when the male rabbit was out, but I remember your theory about having 2 girls or 2 boys and suddenly there are these "magical" baby bunnies. Still watching Mary's doe, because her goat Cindy Lou, did let the male out. It was the night of Mom's birthday bingo party Jan. 20th, so I have marked the calendar on Feb. 17 just to start watching.

We got into the 20's today, but Mother Nature never plays nice....warmer weather but bitterly strong winds. I had to take Precious up to the vet for her spraying appointment and drove threw "long white wind snakes" nearly all the way there, nearly 20 miles of dead snow snakes now. Some places it was like a big spot of snow was on the road. I have one ear that seems even with a tight cap on must have gotten wind in it. Mike had to drive Mikey to Wausau for his appointment....to check out his bladder for cancer. He said test were all OK.
Precious is still sleeping, put her in a big pet taxis for the night. She did not want any water or food, in the morning I have another pill to give her. For once she looks so cuddly and not a holy tear.
Tomorrow it should be warmer, maybe 40's, hear this morning on the radio that we have been 14 degree below normal, sure did not need them to tell me that.

Swelling and bruising sounds normal, even the lump does in away. I had the cut, (dog bite from Mom's dog happen on News Years Day) just a small "V" shaped cut and I think it had gotten proud fresh and I can still feel the lump where it is. Yes, I had to go in for a tetanus shot.so I ask for a flu shot too.
Funeral is on Saturday for my aunt, Helen, she was 95 nearly 96. Today was not too bad outside, got up to 11-12, maybe more, but I very seldom check how cold it is, just look to see if there is wind. I do that by looking at the flower stems in the flower beds to see if they are moving....real scientific way. :)

Today the wind was up a bit, only -9 but felt colder this morning. Spent a few hours with Mom today, after we got home found out my Aunt Helen had died last night, Mom must not have know yet, or she would have mentioned it. She and Uncle Ray were the last 2 children out of 14 on my Dad's side. I think she is or near 90. She had the flu and has been in the nursing home for a few years, with her husband Andy. He is one of the last survivors of WWII.
Dominic took 2nd in his weight class in Sectionals on Saturday, so next will be Regionals, (next Saturday the 17th) and if he wins 1st or 2nd will go on to State. I keep telling I am still tougher than him with my puny little muscles. Weird winter weather is sure "weird" this winter. :) We did get up to 8 today, but no wind so was not bad outside. Hauled loose hay from the round bales into the geese and ducks, they sure make short work out of flattening it all down. Will have to give more wood chips and sawdust tomorrow, with the water pan inside at night, the splash it all over, and it freezes down the woodchips. But they need water to keep their nose clean otherwise it get plugged up with grain and junk. Usually, they go threw about 8 gallons of water....not all get drank, mostly just splashing around.

I suppose it's your winter when it sleets and rains, how dry is the country you are in. Still never got around to looking it up on a map.
Now we all know why the sole is not trimmed too much in the winter. Queen Whisper is doing her best to order warmer weather for you and the rest of the regions, but Mother Nature just laughs and said it is on "back order". We might be cold, got up to 10-- better than 7, and blessed with sunshine. Mike and I went over to Mikey's and helped with the watering and feeding calves. Poor Lilly wants to spend more time trying to lick on you and get you to pet and brush her, than she does eating. We have to put the pony out and then wait while the calves all eat about 15 minutes or so, then the pony can come back in, little pony is fat enough and certainly does not need more corn. When we went up to Mom's and took her the pills we picked up for her, chatted for a bit, until my sister Sherri called, and I had her convinced she had called our number, Sherri can talk for hours, and still not finish everything you wanted to discuss with her. We left then, sun felt to go, worked outside a bit and then watered and put round bales in, but had to convince the tractor vacation was over, and gave him a nice warm battery.
Moved the young guinea hen into the cage in the basement with a light, not really cold down there, but cooler than the upstairs. That bird is never going to make over into a canary, she sure can not sing. But at least she is dried off, she was just soaked when I brought her in, now she has to stay until temps warm up outside. Taking her out now, she would just die.....if I could teach her to sing, she could be a house bird. :) If you ever heard a guinea hen noise, you know why I put the "smiley" face.

Maybe Scott's hospital stay made him second think about things. Glad you are there for him. I am sure he does appreciate that fact.
We had another cold windy day, did get up to 7 above, from -14. Look on the bright side, could have been -24 and winds. Geese and ducks are staying inside when there are winds. Had to feed some small squares this afternoon, because tractor decided it was still on vacation and stayed in the shed dreaming of being on the beach with my sister, Kat. I told her hope she brings some back with her. Probably a little jar full of sand is what I will get. At least when Queen Whisper says, "Scott get better, Scot listens, now Mother Nature just says, We'll see about that, and makes things alot worst. That woman has no sense of humor. It did get up to 4 above, but again that wind sure does not help anything. Suppose to be below zero until next Monday, so another whole week of this bitterly cold, would not be bad, but throw in that wind. We did not have Mass last night, and about 5 this morning got plowed out. Went to Mom's, my sister Kat was not there, she is in Florida, and of course had to call and say "It's 75 here, and sunny, laying on the beach"....I told her we got 5-6 inches of snow, and she said "I have 5-6 inches of warm sand". Her husband Dennis did not come over either, he has shingles above one eye and some in his head/hair. So he was not feeling the best.

Hope Scott is feeling better, and this time listens to you. Hope you are OK after bumping your head, it sure seems those little pushed can do some damage. I have had a few black eyes when one of the colts, just happens to touch a gate, which of course always falls so it hits you square in the head, near my eye. I can always make up a "bar room bawl" picture if someone ask me what happens.
Today it was nice got up into the 20's seen 25 one time, but snowed all day, tonight, temp will be in the below zero again but in the teens. Church was called off today, we go to 4 o'clock Mass. I think it is because of all the ice under the new snow. We calling for about 6-8 inches, but don't think we got that much. Spilled 2 buckets of water today, flowed part of the driveway, which of course now will be icy. Slipped but did not fall, just splashed my water all out, and had to go back for more for the geese/ducks. They enjoy it so much, but sure make a sloppy mess with it freezing all over the rubber tubs, most of it comes out, but the edges are still frozen. In the morning I bring them one hot water and a warm one. Hope tomorrow is better, at least hope the sun appears. Next 7 days are suppose to be below 0.

Mary's 2 dwarf bunnies now they are both males, sudden had a frozen baby bunny, dead of course, yesterday. No fur no nest, this morning was black fur but that was all. So not sure what is up. She (thinking the black one, not the brown one), must be the female/doe. Will not have to start watching other doe until around 18th....if she is bred, it would be around the 20-21. I do have pens in the basement....just in case.
Dominic came yesterday, I think just to remind me how short I am....ha, ha, he likes to rub it in. But I remind him, I am still tougher than him....right, he comes in 1st or 2nd, in nearly every wrestling match he has. But he had to go home for wrestling practice today at 2. They did not have school. Teachers had a meeting or ????/

A Vote for You!!
What is wrong with your man??? Doesn't he know how much you love him. He has to start sharing his health and his worries with you. I will send prayers for Scott and you. In fact, Whisper won Horse of the Month, and as her first order as the new Queen, she will make Scott get better. Her second order is to send better weather to all corners of the United States

Either I or Mother Nature, had last night very wrong.....and I am sure it was me, because yesterday morning it was -19, and I thought today was to be very cold too, well, it was 24 at 7, and nearly 30 as I did chores, and because Mike went to help Mikey do his chores before he went for his dr. appointment, (Mike did not have to drive him), I was outside nearly 3 hours. Tonight it is suppose to dip....like nose dive....down to -20 or better, so I moved rabbit cages, cleaned them out and carried in new hay, loaded everyone up with pellets, and corn, have all the rabbits in cages, but still wondering which Cinnamon rabbit is the doe, have to bring her in just incase she will decided that she wants to deliver the babies.....the male got out 2 times, and I am sure Cindy Lou had something to do with it, since she likes to jump upon cages. I do have hay bales surrounding the cage and a heavy board on top, but just this goat jumping up there makes it wiggle, so that is how the corners kept popping open not far, but if a rabbit can get its head in, the rest of its body will somehow follow.....and he is a big fellow about 15 pounds. Hopefully, the next few day will not be in the deep freeze. Today was sunny and in the 30's. Mom's appointment for 3 was cancelled, and moved up to 12, so we took her in. She enjoys Mike doing things like pumping gas and helping carry in her grocerys, and taking her to McDonalds for coffee and a hamburger.

A Vote for You!!
Not everyone got a comment last night. Did the votes, then got a phone call, and could not get back on to send comments, a few I did.
Windy and blowing snow today. Morning temps were -19, and looks like the next 3-4 days will be around that. Mike got every thing on the list today at Farm and Fleet, good thing Dennis has a BIG truck. Now, I am set for another 2 months. I made breakfast and late dinner for them. Hopefully, tomorrow will not be so bad, because Mom has a dr appointment, sort of late in the day, and don't want her driving when it is getting dark.
