I planned on working with Fancy today, but the rains came in. She has shed her winter duds and she is slick and shinny. I guess I will get new photos after she has a bath. Trigger is slick and shinny too.
Mother's day the neighborhood kids came to visit Fancy and Trigger. The children gave them treats and pulled grass. Trigger is still quite aloof. I wonder if anyone ever gave him treats before we got him. He acts like they just rode him hard and put him up wet. Once you catch him, he is so sweet though.

♥♡♥ Yep, grey skies changed my plans yesterday morning! I did spring cleaning till nearly 12:00! I ate lunch, and then brushed Deacon and Rocket-fly sprayed and turned them out. I got Whiskey next and bathed him! He looked so pretty...after that I was tired, plum pooped!! So I relaxed and watched them graze. Had some Sadie time today. We both need it everyday. It's getting hot here, so I didn't ride. I put the halter on her and walked her off the property. She was a little nervous, so we took it slow, stopping when she needed to to look around and see that she was okay. Neighborhood dogs were barking at us. She walked a little fast on the way back to the house. Had to keep stopping her to slow her down. She loved it. Going to walk her more often to get her use going off the property. Going to work up to riding her. Last time I rode her off the property, she was nervous and wanted to fight me. She should trust me more now. Hugs and a vote. Went out to check on Sadie when I got home from work last night. She'd torn her fly mask off. It lasted 10 days. Hope to someday move away from the egg ranch. The flies are horrible. I hope all of you moms had a beautiful Mother's Day. I had to work, but didn't mind. Being a mom and loving my sons and they loving me in return is what makes it so special. An emotional week this week. My oldest son, a Msgt in the Air Force, leaves the end of this week for 3 years in Germany. He and his oldest son celebrate their birthdays this week, too. Hi Cherokee, here's a vote for ya. Didn't do a whole lot today. Ran downtown and did some errands. Did ride Paige though. Worked on pushing that hip over and making her hold it and travel with the shoulders straight, good exercise for the lope offs. Then worked on downward transitions and stopping and then backing on a slack rein. I gave my legs a workout! LOL! Indy got the day off. Very cold, 35 this morning and a high of 52 only, windy too. Sassy Miss Sadie's doing good. She's keeping her fly mask on, but has torn holes in it. I dumped her water trough out to clean it and found her old fly mask in it, again. While I filled the trough with fresh water, she blew bubbles in it. So silly. Heat's hitting triple degrees next week. Time to buy another misting system. Hi Cherokee, here's a vote for ya. If I didn't get to blog last night, it's my Internet Provider went down! Was on the line with the help desk for almost an hour, it was their side messed up on the DSL service. Came back up this afternoon!
Wednesday, Karen came up to work with Paige and then give me a lesson. Of course the mare was on her game. Did awesome.

♥ I had a really nice day off that included horsey time. I saddled Deacon and rode for a few hours there on the property around our home. When we got back I bathed him from ears to hoofs! I really did the works; he looked so beautiful after his bath. I have a question for my HC friends: how do you wash your horses face? Do you use shampoo, or just water? I was just wondering because I use a wet towel with no shampoo. I do let the hose run on their forelock and I use my fingers to loosen dirt then I wipe the rest of their face & muzzle with a wet towel. Hi Cherokee, here's a vote for ya. Got some rest, well passed out on the couch last night and was out for the count. Felt good. Rode Paige today, now if she only rode like that sunday, we could have shown! Silly mare! Then we went and got 4 ton of mason sand for the indoor, top dressing in a couple of low spots. Then mowed two and a half pastures, supposed to rain the next few days, needed to get it done. Gonna be another pass out on the couch night, I can see it now! LOL! Love ya, Marion and the blondies. ✞ It hurts my heart to look at the HOTD today…that is no way to start a foal. Maybe old school does or use to but I am a total natural horseman believer. I hate that the baby has a bad start to its life-shame on that owner. I don’t know about the rest of you but I didn’t give congrats and I erased my blogged because it was not very nice what I wrote.

♡♥ Want to let everyone know that” Marion & Blondie’s-Paige, Indy & Angel HT” have no WI FI at the horseshow so that means no lap top! She will be back on line when she gets back home! She will be on Facebook though for those who are friends with her! Dropping into the 40’s to mid 30’s today believe it or not! In Texas-yes that is unheard of this time of year. Big hi to all. Jessica came out Wednesday with her boyfriend, David. Sadie was bad. While Jessica picked her hooves, Sadie yanked her back hoof away. She bucked a couple of times, too, when Jessica rode her. She did okay with me. The strap on the saddle pinched a bruise on the inside of my left knee. Shouldn't have worn shorts. Found the missing fly mask, too. Jessica and I dumped Sadie's water trough to clean it out, and there it was. It had sunk to the bottom of the trough. I didn't think to check there. Hi Cherokee, here's a vote for ya. Well, all packed and ready to leave bright an early for our first Quarter Horse Show of the season. Spent the entire day working with the horses, packing the trailer, packing the truck, shaving the horses, mowing the lawn and anything else that needed to be done before going showing! Will be off line till Monday night, vote please and blog, I'll try to read as many as I can when I get home. I am taking the lap top, but don't know if they have WI-Fi on the grounds. Also friday and saturday will be all day shows and the money classes at night. So I doubt I'll have time to play on the computer in the trailer! LOL! Will miss ya'll. Hi Cherokee, here's a vote for ya. What another nice day. The girls came up this morning and Ella did showmanship and then rode Indy. This time she had her spurs, but still had a hard time getting him to go. She would use both legs and just press on his sides, well all my horses are Spur Stop Broke! So he's like both sides pressing, okay stop and drop my head down and look at the rails, only she's not doing trail class. Kept telling her to just thump his sides lightly with the spurs and cluck to him. Finally he moved out for her. It's hard to explain this to a coming 9 year old what she has to do on a super finished horse. He has so many buttons on him to do different things. Her mothers horse is just a run-a-way half the time and the kids can't ride it. So she's never really had the chance to ride a broke to death one. Hopefully I can get her to learn it all! Then the kids had turn out time this afternoon, while I started to re-stock the L/Q trailer for our show. Love ya, Marion and the blondies. Come visit me, Nuttin But Good.
