How We Met

I was just looking through our area sales paper and came across an add for a real pretty two year old palomino gelding. I wasn't really looking for a horse but for some reason I was compelled to go look at him. I kind of wanted a larger riding horse, one I could do cutting and reining on. Also I figured my mare could use a pasture buddy. So when I looked at him he was handsome looking and about the size of my mare so I figured he'd grow a few more inches at least(he grew about 6 more). I was petting him and he stopped eating to get the pets then he gave me a big horsey hug. Well, lets just say I fell in love with the striking blonde and bought him. The guy told me his name was Turnip and I got a puzzled look on my face and he explained that he got the horse from a neighbor that decided to switch to 4-wheelers. He said they bought the mare and didn't know she was in foal. So one day he just turned up in the pasture so hence his name. The story was a lot like my mare and I's. I knew it was meant to be. I thought the name was unique so I kept it. I love his personality, He's a real people horse..
