How We Met

Well, first off Fire is a registered half Arabian. She tends to lean to the quarter horse side until she starts showing off. OK now the fun its a long story so pull up a chair lol. My aunt owned two arab mares a mother and daughter. My aunt and uncle lived with my grandmother. My family decided to move out of the state we were in to another (my parents, grandma, etc.) This was when I was 9. We got moved late summer then the following year in spring my aunt and I had noticed her youngest mare now 3 had a big hay belly. I asked if she was pregnant the reply, no that's impossible. OK I say. Then one weekend when I visited I grabbed Goldy our old gelding to go for a ride. Well, we went to the barn and all the other horses where standing in there. I thought it seemed odd but just nudged them aside and went in. When I turned the corner I saw Gemy circling around with a rope hanging out of her butt lol. I looked closer and saw the silhouette of a foal on the ground. Wasn't a rope, duh I thought, it was an umbilical cord. So I ran up to the house to tell my aunt and grandma gemy had a baby. Of course I was panting and they couldn't understand my frantic gibber gabber. Finally I drug my aunt out and sure enough there she was. We figured out that just before we moved the neighbors 2yr old qh stud colt must have bred her when he broke in to the pasture. My aunt hadn't thought anything of it. My grandmother had told me the next horse that they bought or was born would be mine so she gave her to me. Now for all you little girls out there that wish on that first star you see every night for a horse don't give up. Of course I wished for a unicorn for a while but every night I'd make my wish and it came true. Miracles do happen. My Wild Fire is proof of that..
