How We Met

I too, like many, dreamed of owning a horse since I was a young child, begging my parents every Christmas and Birthday for a horse or pony. Because I was horseless, I worked at a few horse farms just to be surrounded by horses and any horse related activities. At the horseless age of 19, I was living on my own with a decent paying job ready to make my dream of of having my very own horse, that 1st horse, a reality! I also happened to be working part time at Lakefork Stock Farms in Walshville, IL cleaning stalls and grooming. There were 2 weanlings offered for sale that were in my budget.I did feel hesitant at first about raising a colt due to my in-experience but I had a knowledgable and experienced friend to give guidence along the way. I took my parents out to see the 2 weanlings and my mother asked which one I wanted. "The shy black colt...my Boston". Their was a long pause and many looks exchanged between Mom, Dad and Judy then words that I will never forget came out of my mothers mouth " Get my check book". I nearly fainted and my eyes swelled with overjoyed tears. Boston was just 5 months old when our lives came together. Both of us growing together so much over the past 10 years. Dreams will come true even if it takes 19 years..
