☆ I want to thank all of you so much for your support of Deacon’s HOTM run! He has over 500 votes so far and we had a late start to boot! I will be off work the next 3 days so I will be phone voting. On the 1st when I wake I will see who top horse is and I am surely hoping it is my Deacy (Mr. Eyeliner) lol I will get a final vote count before I go to bed the 31st and let you know what his final votes were. Love my HC friends to the moon and back again!!! Have a wonderful day! Whinnies & hugs =)

✞ Deacon is such a sweet gentle soul, he loves kids. When a child is around he lowers his head down with VERY soft eyes and it almost seems as if he tries to make his body small ~it is such a sight to see. Some of you will gasp at this but I don’t lunge Deacon before riding, never have. He has always been such a gentleman. I do lunge him sometimes if I don’t have time to ride and it’s just to have time with him. I sure do hope your weather is better than it has been here. The winds have been terrible 20-30 mph and cold! Happy trails to you and here is a whinny and a click on your horseshoe with love =)

☃ Merry Christmas eve to all and thank you for your support!
* We can and do look inwards reliving the old times and look forward to the new. I personally feel there’s nothing more wonderful than to think about what brought you together with your friends? And what in particular cemented these friendships? When I asked myself these questions, three words keep popping into my head, loyalty, love and horses. ~Carmel Rowley

Love, hugs & a vote ♡

☆ Deacon and I had a really nice ride at Lake Whitney Saturday. We rode alone. That was the first time in sooo long that I have rode alone& we so enjoyed it. With Christmas upon us this week I know everyone is busy but I would like to ask that you at least leave a silent vote for Deacon if you don’t have time for much other! We thank all of you for this amazing support so far ♡ Have a wonderful day! Whinnies & hugs =)

please vote under Deacon's page ♡
♥ I am off work this weekend. We pick up Whiskey today at 2pm. His eye needed to be doctored 2 times a day is why he stayed so long. I go to work before the sun comes up so I would have only been able to get it doctored 1 time a day. His final doctoring will be tomorrow. I do plan to ride Deacon at Lake Whitney tomorrow. I am hoping Lizzy will go so Rocket can get rode. I will phone vote everyone Sunday though so please vote each day and silent votes are so welcomed as well! Have a wonderful weekend <)__~

☆ As I have mentioned before, I have learned so much with Deacon and of course Whiskey & Rocket. Each horse has brought knowledge to me that has its own value. I think we all carry a special place for that 1st horse that is hard to describe ♥ the 1st year ½ I went trail riding, I experienced penning & cutting cows but my favorite has always been trail riding. Have a great Thursday ~Whinny’s & hugs ☆

don't forget to vote for Deacon on his page!
♡ When I got Deacon he had previously pastured on Bill’s brothers property with 3 other horses. All 3 others horses were taken in to have sarcoid tumors removed. Deacon had a small knot on his left flank that I had Doc Edward’s check out. He said to leave it alone until it started to change or he could remove for cosmetic reasons if I wanted. I choose to wait. I don’t show my horses and I wasn’t interested giving Deacon Surgery after just newly purchasing him. It didn’t bother him either. Several years ago I did have it removed. It started to change. Doc had learned how to also prevent future ones as well. This method is to take a small piece of the tumor and put it in the neck area. You can’t even tell where the cut on his flank was now. In his knot he actually had 2 small tumors in it.
Equine Sarcoid:

Sarcoid tumors are the most common skin tumor in horses. These tumors are unique in that they are the product of infection with Bovine Papilloma Virus (BPV), which is probably transmitted by flies. Many horses can be infected with this virus, but no two horses will express it in the same way. Tumor appearance and size can vary greatly between horses, and even on the same horse; similarly, response to different treatments can be highly variable. Tumors can originate at the site of a wound or tack rub, and originally present as a wound that isn't healing; on the lower limbs, they also are often mistaken for proud flesh. Though sarcoids are the most common skin tumor of horses, they are also one of the most misunderstood maladies of horses.
Here is a hug & a Wednesday vote :)
