HI Butter, here's a vote for ya. So it's like 39 degrees when I got up at 6 am, then the sun came out beautiful, only for a few hours, but the temps went to a whopping 49 degrees! Then when I walked out of the indoor after riding Paige, it's lightly raining, they didn't call for that! But it was still holding at a warm temp, so who cared. Indy and I played ball today. He's just to cute, can't load the darn video cause HC video section is still not up and running! GGRRRRRRRRR! Played some more with the Lap Top, really trying to learn how Windows 8.1 totally works. Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

♡ When I got Deacon he had previously pastured on Bill’s brothers property with 3 other horses. All 3 others horses were taken in to have sarcoid tumors removed. Deacon had a small knot on his left flank that I had Doc Edward’s check out. He said to leave it alone until it started to change or he could remove for cosmetic reasons if I wanted. I choose to wait. I don’t show my horses and I wasn’t interested giving Deacon Surgery after just newly purchasing him. It didn’t bother him either. Several years ago I did have it removed. It started to change. Doc had learned how to also prevent future ones as well. This method is to take a small piece of the tumor and put it in the neck area. You can’t even tell where the cut on his flank was now. In his knot he actually had 2 small tumors in it.
Equine Sarcoid:

Sarcoid tumors are the most common skin tumor in horses. These tumors are unique in that they are the product of infection with Bovine Papilloma Virus (BPV), which is probably transmitted by flies. Many horses can be infected with this virus, but no two horses will express it in the same way. Tumor appearance and size can vary greatly between horses, and even on the same horse; similarly, response to different treatments can be highly variable. Tumors can originate at the site of a wound or tack rub, and originally present as a wound that isn't healing; on the lower limbs, they also are often mistaken for proud flesh. Though sarcoids are the most common skin tumor of horses, they are also one of the most misunderstood maladies of horses.

Hi Butter, here's a vote for ya. Very overcast and not that warm today, did hit about 36 and rains are moving in. Had a bunch of errands to sun again, since it wasn't going to rain till later in the afternoon, took Beast for the trip. Sure do love driving it! Plus love the Seris radio, 50's on 5, all my oldies! Got home and unloaded the truck, another 500 of mag/cal for both in indoor footing and for the driveway when needed. Plus a bag of special animal safe salt melt for Harley for the back stairs. Then made some lunch at like 2 pm, then headed down the barn. Lunged Paige and Indy, then gave hay and fresh water for lunch. Tomorrow is supposed to be a little warmer, maybe ride again then. Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Hi Butter, here's a vote for ya. What a busy, sunny and warm day today. It hit 45 and felt like spring time with the sun shinning so nice. Farrier was here buy 9 am and got Paige new shoes and Indy a trim. After he left, I had to take Beast down to the dealer and have them put the plates on it and finish up on the rest of the registration costs. Got home and it was so nice, saddled up Paige and we had a beautiful training session. Got done with her and realized oh oh, I have the chiropractor in less than an hour. So it was hay and fresh water for lunch for them. Run in the house, change cloths and clean up. Took Beast for the ride, she purrs! The hit Wally World for a little grocery shopping and home I came. Good thing I rested up yesterday, cause I was on the move all day today! LOL! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Hi Butter, here's a vote for ya. So the party last night at my friends was really a nice time. Probably about 40 to 50 people there. Horse people from her farm migrated to the dinning room with the food! LOL! Her family was kinda settled in the kitchen, more food there! And her husbands work staff and clients in the huge living room. No food there! They came in and noshed on ours. LOL! But getting home close to 11 pm about killed me today. Feed the troops this morning, feed me and Harley dog, and hit the couch, woke up 4 hours later. I never was a night time person, never, not even as a teenager many moons ago! LOL! So the horses got lunch and the day off. I watched the Giants win and then the Jets win too. Tomorrow first thing in the morning my farrier is coming to do Paige and Indy. So I better get more rest tonight! LOL! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Hi Butter, here's a vote for ya. Well the suns was out for a while today, melted off a lot of the snow and ice that we got the other day. Hopefully tomorrow even more sun and a little warmer, might make it to 40 degrees! WHOO HOO! Got Paige ridden today, and lunged Indy. On HC a lot earlier than usual. Have a Christmas party to go to tonight. So feeding an hour early and then headin' on over to a bunch of friends, all horse people, my kind of folks! LOL! This party is always fun and good grub! Usually catered affair! Wearing my dress jeans, turtle neck and flannel shirt, that's as good as it gets! LOL! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Hi Butter, here's a vote for ya. Well it's a chilly one today, didn't get above about 32 and some winds. Got all my Christmas cards out and all but 5 mailed, ran out of stamps. Thought I had enough, tomorrow. Paige got lunged, that was about it. Then did some more winterizing in the barn, trying to close up all the drafts that I can, think I just about got them all now! LOL! Hayed and re-watered for lunch around 2 pm. Then brought in 5 boxes of firewood, good for a couple of days now. Then it was relax time for me with catching up on reading my last manual for Beast. Got a call, my real plates are in for it, I'll go Monday and get them or if it's nice take Beast and let them put them on for me. Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

HI Butter, here's a vote for ya. Well it finished off at only about 2 inches of snow, thank goodness. But the driveway was ice under it! Made for interesting walking on it! LOL! Got the kids to the indoor for either work or playtime. Paige got lunged and showmanship. Indy got free lunged, he's so good, stay in circle right around me without the line. And Bullseye just got to run and roll all he wanted. The I gave them lunch of hay and fresh water. The it was time to head downtown and go to Walmart and make my specialty Christmas cards. That took almost 2 hours to do. There was a wait for the computer I needed, then it took 5 minutes to download my phone pictures to it. And don't you think, the picture I really wanted of Paige was not on the files I copied over! Darn it! Wasn't going to use another 20 minutes to re-do it. People were waiting to use these things. So I settled for another one of her that I like. They came out good. Then home, it was 5:30 by then. And I have a hard time driving in the dark! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

☆ I have the same farrier for all these years and I have the same equine vet so my horses have really good care. I am very thankful that I can give my horses the best I can provide. Again Deacon started this journey for me and I have learned so much. I have learned how to pick hooves, clean sheaths, scoop poop, bath them from head to hoof, load, doctor eyes and cuts…and the list goes on! I have read and studied so much as well. The journey with the horses never ends and you can always learn more. I am off work tomorrow so I will phone vote as many as possible. There is a 20% chance of rain so I’m not sure if I will get to ride. I do have to run and pick up feed and stop by the grocery store, maybe a little final Christmas shopping. Have a great Thursday ~Whinny’s & hugs ♡

Hi Butter, here's a vote for ya. Well if yesterday's sleet, ice and then 2 inches of rain wasn't enough! Along comes about 2 inches of snow today. But the high winds, about 20 MPH were blowing it sideways! Kids all got hay and warm water for lunch. I was going to get them to the indoor, but the snow was blowing in my face, and if I didn't like it, I know they would be trying to turn tail to it. So best safe than sorry. They didn't seem to mind at all, heats on and about 50 degrees in there. Tomorrow it's indoor playtime for sure! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Hi Butter, here's a vote for ya. What a nasty day out there today! Started during the night with sleet, then freezing rain, woke up to a nice layer of ice to walk on to get to the barn and feed. By noon it was about 36 and melting, good thing, cause I had to get miss antsy pants to the indoor for some exercise. Got that done and then ran downtown to get my script of allergy meds. I have them 24/7 365 days a year. Roads were good by 1:30 when i left for the store. Didn't do much more than lunge Paige and do mid-day stalls and hayed and watered them before leaving. We got about 2 inches of rain throughout the day. And now tonight, they are saying 1 to 3 inches of snow! Yep, gotta love the weather! NOT! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Hi Butter, here's a vote for ya. Well it was a mere 15 degrees with wind chill of 07. So not much got done! Did have to take a trip to Walmart and Lowe's, so I took Beast for the ride! Sure is nice driving that truck. A woman who parked by me, she had a 2014 chevy small truck, says wow, that sure is nice! Said so's yours, I love mine. Then at Lowe's a young guy says to me, nice truck, but why would you want to drive a big truck like that? Cause I can, that's why! I think he was super jealous that a woman had a bigger toy than he had! LOL! Came home and Kevin and I put the new 8 foot fluorisent in the barn, one section went out two days ago, and don't you know, it's right over my grooming area! Gave them hay and fresh water and hid in the house with the wood burner going full blast! It was only 24 with chill factor of 17 at 3 pm. Got some really ugly weather moving in for the next three days. Oh Joy, can't wait! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Only got to about 36, but the indoor was at 48 so it was nice in there. Got a nice ride and workout with Paige in. Free lunged Indy and then played a couple of follow the leader games with him. But by around 11 am trucks were defrosted and I was able to get out and get grain for the kids, do some XMAS shopping and then stopped at Marissa's to shoot the breeze! LOL! Kids got a nice hay lunch with warm water, barns holding at about 52 degrees without the heater going, insulating those three dutch doors sure made a difference. It rained all day long and is still raining. Now they are saying Tuesday chance of snow! YUK! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Needless to say, didn't darn try to walk a horse to the indoor, really need to build that covered walk way, I'm so spoiled! LOL! So spent the day doing a complete spa day, complete with horse show clips for them. Had the heater on, was nice about 52 degrees warm air and we all loved it! LOL! Temperature is supposed to rise over night, so hopefully no ice in the morning and I'll get the manure wagon out them. Deacon would love your support for HOTM!
♥ The first 2 years I had Deacon I kept him at a barn 18 miles from me and I didn’t have a trailer at first. So my friends would haul me around to ride. We bought a 2 horse trailer a year later and soon after we bought a 3 horse gooseneck stock trailer. I use to bring a tent and my horse in my 2 horse trailer to camp out! Lol What fun I had and what a wonderful horsey journey I have been on every sense the day I laid eyes on (NEW NICKNAME) Mr. Eyeliner!!! Cliff always says he has eyeliner around his eyes and Allie’s mom started putting “Mr.” in front of it and I think that is so cute! I won’t be around a computer the weekend…I will try and phone vote some. Please continue to support my Deacon! Thank you so much!

Been playing with backing up things on flash drives cause this desk top is about to give up the ghost. Then later in the day trying hard to get used to the lap top and windows 8.1. Got a really nice ride in on Paige today. Then free lunged Indy, who whenever I turned my back to him, came over and tried to pull my head band off, I think his ears night have been cold and he wanted my head warmer! LOL! Bullseye got some pasture time, little stinker found a muddy spot and had a ball! I looked at him and said, you put it there, you take it off! Plus I was waiting on Dr. Carole to come and adjust Paige. She gave Paige a thumbs up and being in such good shape and not having the ton of problems she had last year at this time! (Thank you Karen). She said I better not leave Marissa's training problem, the mare was in good shape, just a few minor things and she also did acupuncture on her, she always does, it's part of the adjustment. Said yes I have a few problems with the rider guard doors not lining up right and being easy to lock and secure. Also the outside big doors might be in need of adjustment and one snugger is not working right. They had 4 men here in less than 2 hours to fix it all. They worked in there for like 2 hours and everything is perfect again. Love those Amish Builders. Went and did some more visiting for the holiday and just relaxed the afternoon away with friends. But now they are talking freezing rain over night, funny how it was snow at 34 degrees and it's going down to 25 and will be freezing rain! Go figure. So anyhow, went down the barn and brushed them and gave them hay and warm water at 2 pm today. Then I plowed snow with the tractor, got wet, but oh well, it had to be done. Happy Thanksgiving to All. Hi Butter, here's a vote for ya. Well it was a busy day again today! Took the trailer over to Bill, he had me drop it and leave it there. Took a quick look and from what he saw, about 2000 to 2500 to fix, but he wanted to bring it inside and lift it up and really check out the middle to the front better. He said it's worth fixing it, lots of life in the rest of the trailer. So we'll see! Got home and painted the flower boxes that we built. Plus I stopped at a dollar store and got like 6 nice fake flower pieces, wish they had 6 more, then I'd be set. Got the kids lunged today, was running out of time and energy, more so energy. Washed Paige's tail in bucket of hot water, since it was 53 degrees out and my barn was at 65 inside. By then it was late afternoon and lunch time for me. Well tomorrow could be very interesting, snow starting around 3 am and going till 6 am on Thursday, so here comes the 6 to 10 inches they are talking about. Got a full 4 gallons of gas for the snow blower, we're ready. Tractor is half a tank of diesel, so it's ready too! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

HI Butter, here's a vote for ya. I guess we were all in the same boat yesterday, HC, DC and SAC were all down from the afternoon till this morning! Well we are in a record breaking temp of 68 degrees today. But don't get used to is, cause on Wed into Thurs, could be between 6 to 10 inches of SNOW! Yep right into Thanksgiving! At any rate, had a great ride on both Sun and Mon on Paige. Today I moved the snow blower to the front of the garage and got it ready for work! Also Kevin and I built two 6 foot long flower boxes to use in my trail course set-ups. Tomorrow if the hay barn is warm enough, I'll paint them. Then just have to get the fake flowers for them. Also taking the Trail_Et trailer to have Bill look at it and see if they can fix it up for me. Say a prayer it can be fixed and not cost me an arm and a leg! LOL! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Hi Butter, here's a vote for ya. Well very productive day today! Got the kids exercised and had to turn Bullseye out alone while we worked on Indy's stall. Steve came over about 1 pm and it took over 2 hours to almost finish the project. Bedding stall is insulated and done! The we measured and cut the hay stalls door, but because of the amount of old hay in front of it and blocking it, I'll move that tomorrow when I have a mask on and can open some windows, yes temps in the lower 50's on Sunday. Then I kicked Bullseye out and put Indy in his stall so we could tackle the big job. Indy's insulation is in and the plywood over top is on. Of course it only took him about 3 minutes to go over and rake his teeth on it. I have to get some chewstop and paint it. Sprayed some Bitter Apple on it for now. From moving just enough of the old hay, I've got a runny nose and cough, it was dusty and some mold on the bottom. But I never go near there, so disturbing it got my asthma and allergies going nuts. Will finish up tomorrow and for sure ride again! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Left a vote for you
I should have the blood work back today, as far as the nutritionist. She is reluctant to make a change in feed for and ulcer he "may" or "may not" have. She can't get her head around an impaction colic, to her that means lack of moisture, so #1 should be let's get him drinking more water...Charlie is a good drinker. She says the only way to know for sure if he has an ulcer is to scope, I said Dr. C is treating on clinical signs, he knows this horse. She said he has adequate fat and fibre with his present ration, keep up with the alfalfa hay and add corn or vegetable oil to his feed. Not much help there....we left a vote, Love Donna Lee

Hi Butter, here's a vote for ya buddy. Another cold and very windy one. Today was take the new truck on an adventure to Home Depot. First time it got to be a work truck! Carried it's first load of materiel in the bed. I picked up 3 insulation panels for the three dutch doors on the front of the horse barn. One sheet of plywood to go over the top of Indy's door, don't want him eating the insulated board. And several bags of ice melt in prep for the winter. Steve across the street helped me get the big stuff to the barn and hopefully tomorrow he'll help me cut everything to size and place in the door frames. Kids got hay for lunch and fresh water, they were happy. Tomorrow it could go above 35 degrees in the afternoon, so I'll ride them then if we are done with the project, otherwise at least lunge them again. Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

HI Butter, here's a vote for ya. Let me first clarify, I'm not moving or going anywhere. Yes, I have owned my own farm and built it from dirt up, over 36 years now. Love this place. It's my Trainer Marissa that'll be moving in the early spring. She rents where she's at, it's nice by they haven't made any of the improvements that needed to be done by winter, and winter is fast approaching and things are going to be ugly over there again. So she's looking into a couple of other farms to rent. Okay, this just wasn't a good day. I had a noontime appointment to take my 1991 Trail-Et goose neck trailer too to have the frame looked at. I have some really bad rust spots that started getting really ugly this summer. This first shop told me to scrap it, not worth fixing the frame and not safe to haul in! Really upset me, as this trailer is lighter and smaller than my L/Q trailer by far. So I called the place I brought my Featherlite L/Q from and they told me to call back Monday for appointment to take a look at it. Bill thinks he might be able to salvage it. Interior for horses is excellent, so is the tack room and small dressing room. Anyhow, got home and was so bummed I didn't even work the horses. Went to Kevin's and crying on his shoulder. We'll see what happens next week! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Hi Butter, here's a vote for ya. AWH remember that all too well, leave in the dark both going and coming from work! No offense, don't miss it at all! Are they in during the day or when it rains, or do you have those heavy water proof blankets? Burr baby Burr! 23 this morning with a wind chill of 14, and the high was only about 27 with windchill of 16! So it was not nice out there. I have to find my knee warmers, I didn't put them on and working out two horses in the indoor and then being outside getting wood, my poor ole'arthritic knees were screaming when I came in the house. Only lunged today, hopefully tomorrow ride Paige. She was bucking up a storm lungeing, it was about 36 inside the indoor and she felt good, kinda glad I didn't saddle up! LOL! Heats on in the barn, it's about 50 right now in there when I feed a little while ago, kids are nice and toasty in their blankets. Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Hey Butter, aww bummer to hear your weather hasn't been that great lately. We've had the Santa Ana winds since Sunday. I'm hoping they die down but even if they don't, I'm still going to get Koot out tonight. Voted. XOXO Danya and Koot
