The love of a mustang.
Kheiron is the Third Mustang that i have had the pleasure of being owned by. I had no plans to keep him, he was just going to be a project horse, I would Gentle him down, then Sell him when i found the right home, and i knew that he and his new owner would be safe.
This horse stole my heart immediately. I picked him from a herd of 10 geldings. and i had no intention on picking one based on looks, I was looking for the calmest, most level headed one in the group. He didnt fight anyone, or get pushed around either, considering that he was in the wild as a stallion for 11 yrs, and had only been captured a month before. I was amazed at how laid back he seemed immediately after the long trip to Florida.
I had him eating out of my hand withing a day, latching on to me and following within a few days, and Had him practically haltering himself within a week. (I used clicker training, and he caught on very quick.
He also gives great kisses. I just ask for a kiss, and i get one, ask for another, and i get it immediately, he loves this game. I know. I know!!! I should never kiss a horse, but how can i resist. he loves it.
I dont know if i will ever get to ride him, due to his age, but hes a quick learner, and loves to learn. but hes afraid of everything. Still needs major desensitizing to everything. Ropes first. lol. I hooked a lead rope on him a couple of times, thinking he would work it out. but after an hour of jumping, running for his life, and breathing so hard he looked like he was going to drop dead. each and every time. I even tried putting a bunch of lead ropes on the ground, and hanging them all over fences, and he killed them all, not one working clip in the bunch.
He is missing the flap to one of his nostrils, and i think he may have battled a snake in his past.
