Hey a new photo. I like it. Sorry for the long delay in getting back to you. I just haven't had a lot of time on here. Did you ever get Pippin's movie to work? Well, I rode Prince on Monday and he was really naughty. He bolted after Eddie and when I tried to slow him he got mad and started bucking like crazy. So now I was not only on a galloping runaway but a bucking bronco too. It took me a second to realize what he was doing but I was able to pull his head up and get him back under control. I worked him really hard after that and he did well. There was also a cattle drive right past the field where we were riding and he was so desperate to join in. He and one of the horses driving the cattle were having a very loud conversation the whole time. It was kind of funny.
Yesterday I took Pippin out with the cart and he did really well as usual. I went up the mountains a little way and since he was so desperate to explore we went through some unchartered forest until we could go no further because of the trees. It was lots of fun for both of us and he was very obedient. It was fun going home too because it's all downhill and he went pretty fast. so much for checking out Pippin's new movie. I hope you enjoyed it. We had a lot of fun making it, especially Pippin who knows he's the center of attention. Well, today Pippin got himself stuck in a corner of his field between a blackberry bush and the fence. I knew he was stuck because I offered him some grass and he just pawed the ground and wouldn't move. So I went in and moved some brambles from behind his butt and told him to "step back". He was very obedient and immediately came out. It's nice to see commands that I've taught him come useful in these situations. He wasn't extremely grateful though because then he tried to bite me. I think he must have been there awhile and had got frustrated. After that he tore full speed around his pen for a good 10 minutes. That's too bad that you missed the opening ceremony. It was spectacular. I had heard too that one of the girls competing in gymnastics is only 13. I guess there's probably no way to prove it but she sure looks young. I was moving Pippin from one pen to another just now and he took off and it took me 25 minutes to catch him. He was galloping around like crazy on our property and then the neighbours'. Crazy horse. Pizza, huh? That would certainly get Pippin in the house. I had a really great ride on Prince this Tuesday. My sister didn't come so we rode without Eddie and he was so much more concentrated on my aids and without the distraction he was almost perfect. For the first time I took him over a couple of poles. He was kind of spooked the first time but then after that it was no problem at all. I want to try raising them so he'll jump. We'll have to see what he thinks about that. I think he's such a great guy and he's really putting his heart into learning stuff. He still tries to grab a bite to eat while we're riding but that's okay. Sometimes I let him. Pippin is also doing really wonderfully. I took him part way up the mountain a few days ago and he trotted the whole way up. And then when we turned around he cantered fast all the way down. It was so much fun and the best thing of all is that when I asked him for a "whoa" in the middle of cantering he stopped within a few steps. He's so responsive and eager to do the right thing. Well, most of the time. He can take two passengers now and he does really well. We haven't tried any faster than a trot because I think he needs to build up to that. Anyway, as you can see I'm pretty pleased with my two boys. Eddie's great too but he's more my sister's. Well, I hope you had a great weekend and here's a vote for you. I love your last picture with Redman looking into the house. Pippin does that sometimes. Our back porch enters our kitchen and so does Pippin on occasion and he heads right for the bread drawer. Got Another Vote
These are horse camps where you can go camping & bring your horse with you. They are either on the beach or the mountains. This way we can ride in new places which is alot of fun. They have the facilities for your horse too, a stall with a turnout, you just bring your own feed, it's great. Take care. Allie.Come visit me, Allie.
