August 2, 2008 CANTER-Ohio Equine Education Clinic at Cherokee Stables on Borror Road in Grove City, OH 43123. 10 am-2 pm $15 admission, multiple speakers including OSU vet, equine clinic vet, farrier, & an equine massage therapist on hand to cover topics: colic, basic health care & vaccinations, shoeing, & massage, etc. Lots of information for just $15. Hey! Sorry it took me so long to write you back..I was on vacation all week. Leasing can be cheaper depending who you are leasing from. You usually don't have to pay vet bills..(which get pretty high for vaccines and such)..you also don't usually have to pay for farriers..(which should come every 6 weeks to trim the horse's hooves..It is kinda pricy especially if the horse needs shoes.) Even though you have to pay monthly or weekly fees, it won't (and shouldn't) get to the actual price it would be to own the horse. Also, leasing is a good way to make sure you and that particular horse connect and trust eachother. Cuz believe me..you DON"T WANT A HORSE YOU CAN"T TRUST OR DEPEND ON!!! So this way, if you decide the horse you are leasing is not the right one,you can always stop the lease and look for another horse. Well...I hope I helped! Good luck! That would be such an amazing horse!! I got my pony Lula as a gift ..so sorry I can't really help much. My horse Emma though..we started by leasing her. I HIGHLY recommend leasing before buying. N joke. He's chipped. All Andalusians and Lusitanos in the US have to chipped in order to be registered. Many other breeds also require it. It is an excellent and fool-proof method to prove ownership. Check out my website for more info about it.
