How We Met

We were told that a horse was in need of a home, they had not been able to catch this horse without the help of a entire staff.
Empress had been in a trailer accident and was also sent out to be trained elsswhere! when she got back she was a different horse! She was afraid of everything and anyone! This horse had been in pasture for a couple of years, this was a very large place, with many wonderful horses, however Empress was just not worth their time and energy so she was going to need a new home, My daughter heard this, and was relentless, so I said that I would take her to see the horse.
Finding the right mare was not very hard, she had this wild look about her, and any of the other horse wanted to be arround you!
My daughter sat on a fallen tree and low and behold, after a while, the mare came up and took a treat out of her hand. She would grab the treat a run away! We repeated this a couple days in a row, by day three all the horses were watching for the kid with the treats, Empress soon was the first one to her!
The owners couldn't believe that she even came near us. They said if you can catch her you can have her! the picture above is Empress and my daughter that very day! Not a word was spoken. I took this picture that day! It is my favorite picture! Every time I look at this picture I am in awe at the bond and trust they both shared! Below are more pics of those couple days. And look at us now! We are not tame by a long shot, but we are much better! more Time and more trust! We will get there!.
