How's everything going with you? Thanks so much for the congrats for Pippin's hotd. It was a really nice surprise.
I had a really great ride on Prince yesterday. I rode with the English saddle again and I put the jump standards on their sides and wedged the poles on them. That was much more secure and he only refused the first time. After that he jumped every time and it was so much fun. They were only a foot high but this is a huge improvement.
Pippin's flymask came but it's too small and rubs on his eyeballs. So, I need to see if I can return it and get a larger size. He really needs it badly. A few nights ago I took him out with the cart and Melian came too. This was the second time Melian has been in the cart and the first time we've done it alone. They were both really good but I need to work out some commands. Everytime I told Melian to do something Pippin would try to do it. I had never really thought about how much attention he pays to what I say. He's really such a good boy.
Melian gave me a big scare yesterday. While I was riding Prince his owners were taking care of her and she escaped and ran off without them noticing until it was too late. She can run very fast and she didn't stop. She ran out the gate and down the highway and then through lots of fields. I tried calling her and then got in the car and started down the road slowly, and calling constantly. I couldn't see her anywhere and she was still running scared. I finally turned around because I figured she couldn't have gone as far as that and started back slowly.
Suddenly I saw her in the distance among the trees and deep grass. First I thought she was a deer but then realized that it was Melian. I immediately stopped and ran across the road to call her. Luckily there was a hole in the fence right there and I scooted under. When Melian heard my voice she was SO relieved. She came running super fast and cried the whole way. Then she jumped into my arms and kissed me over and over again. Prince's owners were so scared because they felt responsible. I think that they were more scared than I was.
Anyway, all's well that end's well and I didn't lose her. So many things could have happened. Cars and broken legs are what were foremost in my mind. Saluki puppy legs are very fragile with their growth plates.

i know theres a LOT of people out here that would like HOTD. and usually i dont help post "advertisements" but i think this one is really special. Orion broke his jaw yesterday (Friday)and hes going into surgery today (Saturday) i really think it would actually mean a LOT to his owner if he got HOTD. please help.! thanks so much in advance! Jackson is running for HOTD. Please help him he really deserves it. He is a 16.2, nine year old Oldenburg from Washington state! He is a spectacular mover and jumper.
