My Horse's Achievements: Yes. He may be a pain in the butt at the barn, but when we go to shows he's a perfect angel. He's always in the ribbons.
My Horse's Favorite Treat: His favorite treat is Austin peanut butter cracker. We were eating them at a show one time and he was begging for one, so we gave him one to see if he would eat it and he must of enjoyed it because the whole time he was eating it, he kept shaking his head. He is so cute! But he also likes normal horse treats like peppermint, apples, and carrots.
My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: Ziggy LOVES water. When he and the other horses are turned out, he likes to try and fit all four legs in the water bucket. Lol! He likes to play in the mud too. Oh and, I know this may sound a little weird, but he love to lick my hands. He will stand patient for anything as long as he has my hand to lick. Its histarical!
Pet Peeves: He absolutley hates crops. The only time I tried to use one, he threw me off. I think a previous owner beat him with a crop when they were trying to break him.

How We Met
I was buying my first horse and I had a farrier come to look at a horse that I had on trial. The horse didn't pass so the farrier told me where i could find a nice Paint that jumps so we went to look at him, I fell in love with him, and we bought him a few days later..

vote for my horses please
Hi your horse is so cute so I voted for them can you vote for mine. I would like you to meet my horses Amy, lil red, Skyler, and Trevor. Here is a little about all of them. Amy, I part-board her and got to train her she is still a little green but getting better every day. Lil red hurt his leg a few weeks ago but is slowly getting better with my help. Skyler, is so cute and sweet and is a therapy horse for kids. Trevor, the best jumper at my barn he can clear 5 feet like a breeze.Come visit me, trever, taylor, skyler, amy & lil red.

Will you do a champion pony a favor? Please vote for Theadore O'Conner, Karen O'Conner's eventing star! The dear pony had to be euthanized May 28 after falling and hurting himself severely. He was short-listed for the Olympics this year and he's won the Team and Individual Gold Medalist from the 2007 Pan American Games and had top six finishes at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event in 2007 and 2008. He was the 2007 USEF/Farnam Horse of the Year. I hope that works out for you! The show went really well- we placed in almost all our classes and he was really good for me. Almost all of the errors were things that i did so I'm happy with his performance!

sounds good! I was also thinking about it some more, and while I was at my show this weekend I did another thing that helps to move Neo forward that I forgot to mention. I sing to him! (quietly of course) but I pick a song that is somewhat up tempo and that I know enough of the words to, that way I have a kind of internal beat that I want to move to and my energy kind of transports into my horse. Whatever speed I sing to, my horse moves to. It's really neat! And I pick out two songs, one for the trot and one for the canter, that way he doesn't break stride because he knows which song is which! I don't know if that will work for your guy but give it a try as well!

oh i know what you mean about shuffling in hack classes- heres a little trick that works with Neo and maybe it will work with Ziggy...
if you get the chance to go into the warm up ring before you hack, warm up as usual, but after you're done cantering, instead of walking, trot around the ring once, really forward- just give your horse his head and let him go, and then walk him. Don't do any more schooling after you do that canter to trot transition. Then in the ring when you ask him to trot, he should hopefully be a little more forward because of how forward you had him in the warm-up. Maybe practice that at home a few times and see if it works and let me know. otherwise i could try to come up with something else to try as wellCome visit me, Tommy, Dorian, Rex, Oliver, RIP Neo, Mowgli & RIP Elmo.

Jackson for HOTM in June
The reasons why to vote for Jackson are: 1. Oldenburgs are rare on HC and I want to make them more known 2. We are doing our first Children's Hunters (3') classes in two weeks 3. He is a 9 year old bay gelding 4. He was my dream horse when i bought him, and he is amazing. 5. He loves people a lot!!! 6. He is a very sweet horse who really wants to win HOTM! I'm glad you got to go out and show! I did my schooling show in March and I'm going to an A show next weekend, I'll be there Thursday through Sunday, I'm very excited! Neo is who I show, but this is going to be his last year showing (he is almost 17 after all!) So I'll start showing my new horse Dorian (Newbie) next year. He is not broken at all, I mean he doesn't know anything, so he will be quite a project for me! But anyways, I'll let you know how our next show goes and you do the same!! I can't get over how pretty your horse is! I hope to one day get a paint that looks like him!!

Are you an American Idol fan? Ever loose a good friend? Kristy Lee Cook, the darling country girl on the most recent American Idol, got the boot April 16 and she wants her horse back! She had to sell her nice barrel horse, Midnight, to make it onto the show. Any idea of how we can help her out? Yeah William's cool...but i think I embarassedhim b/c i asked him if he was asking me out! Stupid me!! I think Luke or Logan was ovr at Luke G's house yest. I couldn't tell. But I'm guessing Luke cus Matt Hobday was there too and he is Lukes best friend. I think I should back off of Luke....
