Nicknames: Coquena's name belongs to a bird that lives in the sonora dessert, the bird is most like a small quail. im sure that the bird has another name, it makes more sense in spanish though .

How We Met

well my parents bought coquena and this other horse . they guy who sold them to us had told my parents that they were as tame as litle kittens, that in fact turned out to be a huge lie. in order to stop coquena you had to put lots of presure in his mouth, he has been the worst hard mouth case i hae ever seen. he also had the bolting whit rider thing going on. luckily he doesnt do it anymore. we are overcoming the kiking issue right now. he wouldnt tur non one side but now all of those problems are gone for good. i have been working whit coquena for about a year now, he has turned into a magnificent horse. he is quite shy and very sensitive but in fact a great jumping horse and cattle driver..
