Thank you for making a page about horse slaughter. I knew about horse slaughter but i did not know it was this bad until today. I want you to know that your page has encourgaed me to do more for these poor horses that are desperate for some attention and love. People like us need to let the whole world know about this so we can stand up for these horses! They need to be saved. If you really think about it, this world would not be the way it is right now if it wasn't for horses. I mean how do you think the West was won? And what about Indians and early explores, how do you think they got around and transported supplies?? And when wars were fought, soldiers were not on foot but on horse. We need to stand up for these horses and give them love, attention, RESPECT, and a home. Each year about 60,000 horses are killed in the U.S... thats over 166 horses a day... and almost 7 horses AN HOUR THATS ONLY IN THE USA!!! and these are not just some hoe-hum old raggidy pony no one wants... thousands of the horses that are slaughtered had a great racing carreer! i dont know about anyone else but id love to have a racehorse that beat seattle slew! PLEASE VOTE FOR: graphic pics! or racehorses slaughtered... if we can get HOTD then thousands of people will see our page and hopfuly be inspired to try and end this for good!

i see where you are comming from
but look, you are forgetting that they humanely euthanize the animal before they begin to process it. i'm not saying horse slaughter isn't sad and painful, and grim, and disliked for alot of reasons- I really hate the idea that people actually eat horses, i think it's sick and gross- but I am stating that the horse slaughter houses in the US are totally important to the horse economy. Horsechannel will even agree with me on this one, i believe that because i have read Horsechannel articles saying the exact same thing. it is people's decision of WHEN they send a horse to slaughter, but just because they time it wrong doesn't mean it should be stopped. I'm sorry for your freind for loosing her lesson horse- but that was the owner's decision and, obviously, if the animal was sent to plant in the US it was humanely euthanized. and besides, now that the main houses in the US are gone, the slaughter horses are just being sent to Mexico and Canada, and they are NOT treated as kindly AT ALL from what I have read in magazines, horsechannel, and other informative websites I can give u the url to.Come visit me, Awesome King, Jenna & Awesome Cougarand.

if u want me to come and take ur horse tye it upsidedown and slit its throat and then eat it than u have the right to say "i see nothing wrong with slaughter" but most of us LIKE our horses and CARE about them come on guys put ur self in the horses shoes! animal abuse is totaly wrong horrible and absalutely immoral, and this page could totally make an influence on people to start treating animals right. but there is a fine line between horse abuse and the slaughter houses that are so esential to the horse world. here is a vote. i totally agree! oh my pony is going for I think about $12,500 to a good home, but we will lower it or higher it accordingly to her training. She is going tomorrow to a different barn so she can learn how to be a lesson pony and how to be good with little kids. Come visit me, Jackson.
