Hi: Glad you came to visit me. It soulds like you have your hands full with the horses you work with. Keep in touch and let me know how the training is going for you. What horse will you be riding, Buster? Also, what state is Hamilton located in, I don't recognize the abreviation ON. Please let me know. I left you a vote.

Come visit me, Spiderman.

Hi: I'm glad you came to visit me, and thanks for the vote, I left you a vote also. It sounds like you and Buster are doing fine. I'm glad to hear that you are working him under the saddle, that helps them adjust to being ridden. I haven't ridden much lately, too much rain and some snow to deal with. Everything here is pretty soggy. I use to do a lot of showing in Western classes, i.e. Western Pleasure, Western Equitation and Trail Classes, and when I went out for the California State Region Three Championship I also rode English. I prefer Western riding over English, but it was fun to try it out, plus, I need to ride English as well as Western to go for the State Overall Grand Championship. I am proud to say that I accomplished my goal, I won Reserve Champion in Western Pleasure, Reserve Champion in Western Equitation, Grand Champion in Trail, and Overall Grand Champion Horse and Rider of the Year. In order to accomplish this I had to ride in several horse shows over a period of months and I kinda got tired of showing. I have also shown at the Junior Grand National Horse Show which takes place at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, California. I may start showing again some day, but for now I'm just riding for fun. I have also ridden many week long competition trail rides here in California, mainly in the Desolution Wilderness and Rock Bound Pass areas of the mountains which is located near Lake Tahoe, California. I took first place on the High Sierra Trail Ride three years in a row and retired the perpetual trophy. Competitive trail rides are my favorite, unfortunately, the High Sierra Trail Ride was discontinued a while ago. I have been lucky to have spent as many weeks in the back country of the mountains riding my horses both on competition trail rides as well as just for pleasure. How about you, what kind of riding have you done in the past?

Hi: I got your note. It sounds like you are doing the right thing with Buster. I agree with you, I don't think it is a good idea to just leave him in the pasture. The ground work you are doing with him is good for him, certainly no harm to him at all. I feel a young horse should be handled from the ground right from the beginning. Don't let anyone talk you into doing anything different than what you are doing now unless you think it is time to go ahead with his training. At the age of 3 you could even put a saddle on him when you do your ground. That would be good for him also. Perhaps you might try the saddle on him while doing your ground work after he is gelded. I enjoy talking with you, it sounds like you know what you are doing. Come back and visit me soon. I left you a vote.

Hi: Thanks for coming and visiting me. I gave you a vote, Buster is so pretty. I'm glad you are letting him settle before gelding him. From what you said about him just standing when you climbed on a few times, sounds like he may be easy to work with and train. What do you think?

Hi: Thanks for coming to visit me. Buster is a real beauty. He's still very young, are you going to keep him a stallion? I see you intend showing him, are you riding him yet? Come back and visit me again, thanks for the compliments on Spiderman. Here's a vote for you.

You're horse is great! Have a vote! Come and visit Lady and Kara. Two Arabians from California.
You know you’re a horse person when….
You have a terrible fall off your horse, and your only concern is if the horse is okay.

I bet he'll be a great show pony! he's got the body. Will you show him on the Ontario Trillium circuit? that is mostly what I show but I do some of the Quebec A circuit stuff too. :) Have a vote! Also, if you could please vote for three of my very close friends. All of these horses are great and would love votes and blogs from you. The first horse is Daphne, a one year old Gypsy Horse from OKC, OK. The second one is Blondie Willow Breeze, a four year old Percheron from Belmont, NH. And the third one is Mariah, a 17 year old QH from Kingman, AZ. All of these horses really deserve to win HOTD. :) Please Vote Now! Thanks! Hal & His Gal
