Type of Riding: We show in the hunters, we were in 4-H as long as possible, and we love to trailride. Sometimes when friends come over and want to ride Winston, he even lets us put a Western saddle on him to make it more comfortable and safe for the inexperienced rider.

My Horse's Achievements: He is an ex-racehorse and I show hunters, so for us to make that transformation together is something that I am very proud of. We also were reserved champion at the Pennsylvania 4-H horse show in Hunter Under Saddle, and that being judged on him and how he moves and acts really made me proud as well.

My Horse's Favorite Treat: He LOVES "Luck and Love Crunchy Carrot Cake" Horse Treats which are from Reading, PA. My trainer is from there and I brought a box home once for Winston, and now everytime I go back I have to stop at the tack shop for him. Also, he loves sugar cubes and I have taught him to "bow" for it, and also he "shakes" with is front leg!

My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: He loves to trailride, and gallop through fields. After we work in the riding ring I always try and take him on a short trailride, even if it is just through the woods to cool him down. He also loves to jump, which I can tell by his expression and the way he acts over fences. I also know he loves to eat, and spend time out in the pasture with his buddies, especially one of our Quarter Horses, Skip.

Pet Peeves: Winston does not like waiting around to be fed. As soon as someone walks into the barn he wants his grain. He shakes his head up and down - up and down until you think it might just fall right off and fly down the barn aisle.
