How We Met

The year I turned fifteen I was finally able to fulfill a lifelong dream of purchasing a horse. For many months I worked hard to earn enough money to afford one. After two months of looking everywhere, I found my boy only twenty minutes up the road. He worked all day most days on a trail string, and such a strenuous lifestyle had taken a heavy toll. As I arrived Cowboy was just heading out on a trail. I cannot explain how or why but he immediately caught my heart. Many of you know exactly what I mean. I offered way more money than should have been offered but was refused. Still, I couldn't give up. I kept returning again and again until the owner finally said yes.
