How We Met

My mom and I took care of his dam while she was pregnant for this man(James). The owner of his sire(Mike which is James' uncle) had just died so James needed us to take care of her. She was blind and not in the best shape but she was one of the best horses I'd ever known. Well we took care of her a she finally had her baby, DJ. I had named him even though he wasn't mine but I was friends with James' daughter so she let me help name him. DJ stands for Dancer Junior and Dancer is his sire. PJ was is dam and DJ just goes good with PJ. Well he was not to old when PJ had to be put down because she got so bad. By then she wasn't in my mom and mine's hands. Last year around his birthday I started wondering about him. I missed him and I hadn't seen him in forever. I remembered when he was just a day old...he followed me around like a puppy dog. His mom would go whinnying for him. He also got stuck under our trailer and I had a time getting him out... A few months after I had been wondering about him my mom got a call. It was James and he asked if we wanted DJ. Of course my mom had said yes because she loves him too. I had just lost my first horse and best friend, Smoke, so it was a nice gift from God to help get rid of my grief. When we finally got him he wasn't exactly the same horse. He was still small even though both his parents were big. He was lazy and the last I had remembered he was lively and loved to run. Now he barely goes to a trot. He was skinny and rough looking. He still is but I still love him and we have an extra special bond..
