How We Met

I was eight years old when my mom and I were headed home to MS from Oklahoma. When had went there to see our family because they all live there. She asked me on the way home "What color horse did you want?" I said white because most little girls want a white horse lol. She said what about a brown one? Of course I said yes!! She said she wanted to keep it a suprise but she just couldn't. Its a good thing to because I would have never got him. I had to keep on begging her to go get him. Finally about a year later we got him. He'd been with me since. I always rode him off and on. One week of riding. A month of nothing and then I'd ride somemore. He had been through everything with me. Everywhere we moved he went with us. Just last year on labor day his life came to a tradgic end. We had built a fence but it wasn't a very good one. He was smart and could easily get out of it. Well on that September night he got out and got hit by a van. I had to make a decision..let him live a few more days to just die of something rupturing or put him down. I decided to let him go. I still miss him and he will always be in my heart..
