How We Met

he was rescued from an abusive farm,where he was beaten, and locked in a small stall with two llamas , and with no food. the local humane society rescued him and brought him to my grandparents farm. I was eleven that summer when I met max. I remember the first time I saw him I said "I love that one" but when I went into the pen to take a closer look at the pretty little pony, he kicked at me and ran away. max had been so badly abused that he distrusted all people, running in fear of being hurt again. it wasn't easy but I loved that pony, and so that whole summer I spent all my time out at my grandparents, slowly working with max, and with one step at a time he started to trust me. Then he started to love me. max has helped me grow as a person, sometimes I felt like he was the only thing that kept me going through school when I was constantly picked on. that fall I brought max home and he was given to me for my birthday. He was my first horse and we both helped each other out through our tough times.i always thought that that little pony would somehow live on forever, u know teach my kids how to ride. but unfortunatly dec, 31st 2010 max died. the worse newyears ever. i will let him live on forever though im going to tell my children about him and he will live on in my heart. thanks pony boy, you saved my life!!!! i dont know what i would have done without you!!!!.
