CANTER-Ohio www.canterusa. org/ohio Great volunteer-only charity, no administrative costs, 100% of everything we raise goes to trailering, vet costs, board, feed, and medicines necessary to rehabilitate retired/rescued racehorses. August 2, 2008 CANTER-Ohio Equine Education Clinic at Cherokee Stables on Borror Road in Grove City, OH 43123. 10 am-2 pm $15 admission, multiple speakers including OSU vet, equine clinic vet, farrier, & an equine massage therapist on hand to cover topics: colic, basic health care & vaccinations, shoeing, & massage, etc. Lots of information for just $15. She deserves it.
Eight Belles was used for the wrong purposes. If she could've been used for something else she'd probably would still be alive. She has my vote, I hope you vote for one of my horses. just a couple things to note...
she was a 3 year old, not a 4 year old like you have posted (the Kentucky Derby is a race for 3 year olds)
and she was 17 hands high, not 15.2 like you put.
also, in the How We Met section you put "Her owner didn't give her any chance" and to that I just have to say there wasn't a chance to give her. I know that it is a sad thing that they had to put her down but they had to becuase with both her front legs broken she couldn't even stand so there was just no real chance for her to recover even if they had tried.Gina, Cheney, KS.

Thank you for this tribute to Eight Belles. I certainly chose option #2 in this week's poll. Racing is all about money at the expense of innocent, brave, and willing (and too young) horses. What happened to Eight Belles was just an example of the tragedies that happen every day in the shady realm of horse racing. Come visit me, Amber & Zoe.

Spongebob For HOTM In June PLZ VOTE
Hi,I am trying to get my horse spongebob HOTM in june,he is a very loving 5 yrs old gelding,He is being trained as a western pleasure show horse.spongebob is the best horse ive ever known.i got him when he was 1 yrs old and i trained him and he has been through so much and has worked so hard for me and everyone whos ever ridden or taken care of him.I really think he deserves HOTM so PLZ vote for in for HOTM in june,i know it would me not only alot to me but to spongebob as well so plz vote for him:) Plz copy and paste this to everyone plz:)thanx. Jackson for HOTM in June ***Please Vote!!!*****
The reasons why to vote for Jackson are: 1. Oldenburgs are rare on HC and I want to make them more known 2. We are doing our first Children's Hunters (3') classes in two weeks 3. He is a 9 year old bay gelding 4. He was my dream horse when i bought him, and he is amazing. 5. He loves everybody! He is a very sweet horse who really wants to win HOTM!
