I am from Spring, TX and I've been a Club Horse member for 9 years, 10 months and 7 days

Nicknames: i bought him and his name was pico, but i really dont like that name so i changed it. He isnt registered so it dosnt really matter.

Age: 21 years old

Gender: Gelding

Breed: Quarter Horse

Height: 15.3 hands

Color: cream palomino

Type of Riding: I used to jump him and ride him bare back sometimes but now we cant. we sometimes take him on trail rides, but he bucks you off if you take him any faster than the walk. He needs to be retrained on everything. We are using parelli on him right now. We dont like riding him just because he broke my mom's tail bone by bucking her off. I take him in the arena and do at liberty with him.

I may never be able to ride him agian because yesterday (7-18-08) his back legs fell out from underneath him. He is going to the vet for x-rays on friday. he has really bad old injuries from his old owners.

Updates!!!: Apollo was found out to be mental.. .literally that is what the vet said. He is being ridden twice a week once western and once english. He has been going on a lot of trail rides and is coming along so wonderfully! HE is amazing! He is an amazing jumper we found out and my boss is thinking about competing with him. He is also now working in children demonstrations and trail rides.

So its been along time since you all last heard of the mental horse apollo...so i decided to tell everyone how he is doing. He is AMAZING! He is slowly stopping the bucking and rearing problem. He is finally coming to love his family and he picked out a new arabian girlfriend. :) He is going to enter his first jumper show soon. We are going to a lot of practice shows and he is doing great. He LOVES jumping, and he is good at it to. I am now one of the only ones who can ride him, and i still ride him bare back often. :)

My Horse's Achievements: He follows me around in the arena without a lead rope.

My Horse's Favorite Treat: oat balls. he is a really picky treat eater.

My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: Being tied up so he can be near me. He also likes to eat. He even follows me in the arena without a lead rope hooked to him! and he loves to EAT!!!

Pet Peeves: Being ignored or left out in the pasture while you are working, he wants to be near me so we tie him up all day just so he will be happy! He will brake the gate if you leave him in the pasture, but right when he gets out he acts like an angle. Also people cant touch his face because he freaks out (he was abused) but he lets me touch his face(not his ears) and kiss his nose sometimes. He also hates it when i cry.

Updates!!!: Okay, so Apollo now rears up if anyone tries kissing him....exept for me, my mom, or my dad. He feels the love going around. lol.
