Nicknames: i like to call her amira. that is what I wanted her name to be the moment I met her .. but it never stuck.

Color: she is a dark/seal bay with a star and one hind sock around her ankle.

Type of Riding: i ride dressage with her. i am hoping to show her in the late summer. trail riding is fun with addie, only she is a bit spooky of new things. we may also try some jumping.

My Horse's Achievements: I have been re-training her to ride dressage the way we do it. i've had her two weeks and she has come amazingly far in her training.

My Horse's Favorite Treat: apples! they are her favorite but anything carrots, cookies, cake, she loves too.

My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: addie loves to be turned out in the outdoor arena to run and buck and let loose.

Pet Peeves: she hates other horses near her .. unless it's a gelding she likes to 'flirt' with.

How We Met

oh this is a good story. so the owner of the barn where i ride got one of her old horses back that she had given away. the gelding of hers is green and the owner didn't want a green baby to train when she already has a thoroughbred mare, a daughter, a husband and a barn to run. one day she was looking on dreamhorse and found and ad saying they would trade their broke, show mare for a nice young green project horse. within the weekend, the barn owner traded the old horse for this nice mare. i went with them to pick her up and it was totally love at first sight. i don't own her (yet!) but she is my dreamhorse and we are so perfect for one another. i can't believe this is actually happening. it was a great beginning to summer vacation!.

July 12 My lesson yesterday was fabulous!!!! The best part was my parents coming .. my mom for the first time with this new (amazing) trainer I have. Addie is doing SO WELL. I am SO excited it's not even funny. Summer has been amazing .. earning money, riding every day, spending all day down at the barn, working with the horses and the wonderful people not to mention the fact that going to shows as a (groom?) with this one lady who does jumping .. anyways I don't EVER want summer to end! July 5th ~ Happy 4th (yesterday) We are finding out just how sweet and sensative Addie is. It's so amazing that she has the sweetest nature and worries about doing wrong for the rider. June 24th ~ Lessson Day I had such a difficult, confusing lesson on her the other day but I know once we practice it we will get better. Did I tell you how much I adore this horse? She is my perfect match. I won't be able to ride her while I'm working at the jumper show this week. I know the owner's daughter will take good care of her and ride her often but still .. why not me?
