Nicknames: I have 6 horses: Godiva, Buttercup, Peach, Princeton, Smooch & Sing. They are all pictured below.

Hershey Kiss= dear poppy, was a true "babysitter". Started all my kid riders. Never bucked, ran or scared any rider. RIP Poppy, 5/3/2012.
Peekaboo RIP 12/10/13 my little angel pony.

Age: 21 years old

Gender: Mare

Breed: Thoroughbred

Height: from 10.1HH-15.3HH

Color: Bay, Solid Paint, Chestnut, Pinto

Type of Riding: We do English, jumping and bareback.

My Horse's Achievements: Sing has been a show horse, trail horse, fox hunter and lesson horse. Smooch was used in the security patrol around Bush Intercontinenta- l Airport when we were on high security alert after 911. They asked for volunteers and I used him and Sing both to patrol the perimeter.
Princeton has been a super lesson horse and is always a favorite. Peach used to pull a wagon and has been retrained to ride. Same for Buttercup, who has also won $$ as a barrel racer at our local playday. Godiva and Peek have both been shown in walk/trot division and won championships.

My Horse's Favorite Treat: Apples, carrots, cookies, & pony pops are the usual treats.

My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: Play with the red apple or grazin' toy, lick the himalyan salt lick or pony pops, get sprayed with the hose or play in the water trough, lay in the sun or roll.

Pet Peeves: The scary bull in the next pasture, rain, touching ears, dogs & cats.

My Horse's motto: "The rider should whisper his request and the horse should SHOUT his response."

How We Met

Sing was bred at Walmac Farm in Lexington, KY. Her sire, High Brite, was a success as a race horse. He won over $1.5 million and became a stud horse. She was sold at Keeneland for $7000 to Randy Preston trainer. She raced 4 times and was out of the money each and every time so he sold her to a friend he had here in the Houston area. She was at an eventing barn here. She was too small for the woman who had intended to buy her. I looked at her and decided to buy her. She has a big heart and is quite brave about trying anything I ask of her..

Hi Sing & Herd, here's a vote for ya. Love a farrier that's on time! He said between 10 and 11 am, is 10:30 good, yep it's great! He did Paige first, as she's a full shoeing. Then did a trim on Indy. Buy the time he finished, I had dumped two bags of grain and brought a load of hay to the barn. Since they told me no heavy lifting for 24 to 48 hours after the biopsy. So then I came in and took a shower and left for the doctors. They did an ultra sound and he gave me some lidocane to numb it. Did 4 needle biopsy's, didn't really hurt that much. But I still got dizzy and light headed when sitting in the room for the 20 minute period to make sure I was okay. Not, blood sugar went down to 60, had to drink 16 ozs. of OJ, in 5 minutes was up to 71 and I was a little better, blood pressure was good then too at 124 over 72. So another 20 minute waiting time and I was able to be released to drive home. Hurts like heck when I cough, which I do a lot of with the asthma, and it's sore! No riding for a day or two he said also. Darn, that hurts more than the pain of the neck! I love to ride. And the lawn and pastures need to be mowed, can't do that till Sat. either! Oh well. Results in 7 days, but a look he took under the slide looked okay he said. Thanks for the Prayers, keep'em coming for the final clearing on it. Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Hi Sing & Herd, here's a vote for ya. Are you still doing the stretching exercises with the horses? I do Paige twice a week. Has the Farrier been out to show Smooch yet? What kind of shoeing does he have to have done? Just got a text from my farrier, he's coming tomorrow! 5 days earlier than our appointment, but he's going on vacation starting Sat and won't be able to keep them on schedule. So rather than let them get a week longer than usual time frame, he's coming up! Love a good on time farrier! Sun finally came out and it looks like the next 5 days are sunshine and high 70's to low 80's! YES! Maybe then can catch up on mowing around here on Friday. Got Indy lunged and Paige lunged and ridden. Went to get on her from my stepping block and it's like something wasn't right! Stirrups were set at my trainers length, 2 inches longer than my length. No wonder I couldn't swing my leg over her! LOL! Marissa rode Ranch Pleasure Open class after mine, and you have to show in a working saddle. Not my fancy silver Harris show one. LOL! All better now! LOL! Well at least with Jason coming to do them, it'll keep my mind off the biopsy appointment later that day! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

We received 1 ¾” of rain last night-the wind was unbelievable!!! I had to go and get feed and grocery’s yesterday and by the time we were finished it was too hot to ride. I did get fly stuff on the boys and checked the fly mask and then just watched them graze for the evening! Working the weekend but will try to do something with them after work but it will be to muddy to ride. Here is our finial tidbit on the Fabulous Rocky Mountain Horse Breed!
*TOBE was used for breeding until July of his thirty-fourth year, and he passed on his gait, disposition, and other great qualities to his offspring. It has been said that TOBE's progeny followed in his "perfectly-timed" footsteps. TOBE sired many fine horses before his death at the ripe old age of thirty-seven. One outstanding trait passed on was longevity, as many of his offspring were still breeding into their late twenties and early thirties.
Thank you for your support we appreciate it!

Hi Sing & Herd
Dropping off a Friday morning vote, the farrier for Darby is coming Saturday. I have been holding off on riding due to his long hooves. Do you do the flying lead change? Or come down to a trot before? I'm having trouble with the flying lead change, I don't think he knows hot to do it.
He has got beautiful tight turn though, when I felt him turn a barrel once at a trot I just knew he could be a great barrel racer. That's what the lady I bought him from said too, she use to ride barrels on him. Well hope your day goes well, best wishes!

Thank you for voting for Whiskey while I was unavailable the last few days. Whiskey sends you all double loves and hugs ♥ I am actually off work tomorrow and back the weekend!
* In the early 1960s, Sam Tuttle managed the trail riding concession at the Natural Bridge State Park in Powell County, Kentucky. He had as many as fifty horses there, including TOBE. This stallion was often seen tied to the hitching post alongside all the mares. He became quite well known in the ten or so years he was ridden there. Besides breeding, TOBE was used as a trail horse. He carried Sam, and sometimes the trail guides who worked for Sam, with sure-footed ease over mountainous terrain for many years. Although Sam would allow other people to ride TOBE occasionally, it was always a ride closely supervised. He loved to show off his beloved stallion, but also kept a close eye on him. Everyone who rode TOBE enjoyed his gentle temperament and comfortable gait. It amazed people to think the well-mannered horse they were riding was indeed a breeding stallion.
Thank you for your support we appreciate it!

Hi Sing & Herd, here's a vote for ya. Thank you, going to be a very big show, I hear 300 stalls rented! Well all packed and ready to head out by 9 am Tuesday morning for our show. Took a couple of hours to get things all settled in. Then weed whacked around the entire farm. Mowed the lawn, again! Turned the horses out, even though it was a little soft and muddy, but it's their last time out till next Tuesday. Then mowed two pastures, they were soggy, but I mowed them. Then mowed all around the indoor arena. So most of it's looking good and hopefully it won't be up to my knees when I get home next week. We'll miss y'all. Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Hi Sing & Herd, here's vote # 28500 for ya. WOW! Well that storm got here about midnight and it dumped 2 inches of rain by 6 am. Then at 7:30 am we lost electric for a while, generator to the rescue! Two hours later all was well and the sun was out. Hooked up Beast to the L/Q trailer and moved it into it's loading position and backed a few things. Got Indy clipped and lunged. Paige got her show clip and Lunged and did showmanship with her, and Bullseye got some body clipping done again. I was covered in hair! At the show, I'll touch up Paige each day, but the bulk of whiskers and bridle path and lower legs are clean. Then about 5 pm it got really dark and a fast moving storm blew through, 1/2 rain in 15 minutes! Holy Cow! Now it's humid and sunny. Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Hi Sing & Herd, here's a vote for ya. Well it's overcast and then turned to misty drizzle and rain all day. Never got above 61 degrees either! Just down right nasty out there. We're getting the aftermath of Tropical Depression Bill! Worse is supposed to hit tonight and all through the night with up to 2 to 4 inches of rain into tomorrow afternoon! So not fun, thanks BILL! Had a BBQ to go to, went but it started to rain and then all the kids came in the house. Then Marion left! I'm not a kids person and really can't take the running and screaming! Love my peace and quiet! LOL! Came home, on way back stopped at Lowe's and Home Depot, no luck on the latch pieces I need. Call Scott from R.S. Philips Steel! He came right over, looked at what we think would be the best fix and he's making them this week for me. They will be carriage bolted on! And best price, give his two little ones horsey rides, like lead line kinda rides. Works for me! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.

Hi Sing & Herd, here's a vote for ya. Busy day since the sun came out and it dried things up a little. Ran to town, looked in two places for the latches for the indoor. Nope, if I wanted to buy the complete assembly I could at $25 each, need two. But I think I can try elsewhere's, if not I know I can probably get those two pieces made a lot cheaper than $50 total! Worked Indy and rode Paige. Then they went out and I finally got the lawn mowed, it's was calling for about 30 goats or 20 sheep to do it soon! LOL! I'll probably try to do as much as possible out side tomorrow as they are calling for rain all day Sunday. And Monday I'll be packing to leave Tuesday for our 5 days of showing. I can't wait. * Even through the hard times of the Depression and World War II years, Sam Tuttle kept a sizable herd of thirty to forty horses on his farm. Sam is considered as the man most responsible for the survival of the Rocky Mountain Horse. TOBE was the primary Rocky Mountain stallion used in Sam's breeding program. In the 1950s, many people were selling their stallions, and the horse population in general was rapidly declining due to tractors and farm machinery available. Even so, breeders remembered TOBE, and he was always in demand for stud service. People brought their mares to TOBE from several different states, and he was as famous in Estill County as MAN O' WAR was in Lexington, Kentucky. Everyone who rode TOBE fell in love with him. TOBE's offspring were always in demand, and Sam never had any trouble selling all the Rocky Mountain Horses he could produce.

Having some beautiful weather for a change. I'm on vacation this week. Tomorrow I plan on mowing grass at the pasture and giving the herd a bath. Yesterday we watched and assisted a young female vet castrate a eight year old stud. The stud is kept right down the road from our pasture. Hi Sing & Herd, here's a vote for ya. Is there anyway that he could have drove under the covered arena and shod Smooch there? Just asking. Glad that Buttercup did well today. If you rode her on day 2 of the bute and she was acting up, then finished the 3 days and didn't ride, I don't think the bute could have bothered her tummy in the first two days. Unless she was getting like 4 grams a day. Well today was different, weather wise for sure. Woke up to 61 degrees with misty rain, didn't get about 63 degrees with drizzle all day long! Went up to the eye doctor and got my new lenses, they came in yesterday. So I'll try them out at the horse show, then if the new right eye change is good, they will swap out the new 5 pair I have for the new correct ones. Got home and lunged Indy and played with him inside. Then lunged Paige and we did the showmanship patterns that are posted for the Zone 5 show on Wed next week. She did really good, here's to hoping we can do that well there. It's going to be a very big show. I heard over 300 hundred stalls rented out! Love ya, Marion and the blondes.
