Dressage Horse Debuts as Model

Breyer has added Keltec Salinero to its famed collection.

He has his own theme song, performed during his musical freestyles’ and he’s known for his fiery yet flowing movements. His name is Keltec Salinero, and the Hanoverian has proven again and again why he and Dutch owner/rider Anky Van Grunsven inhabit the rarified air at the pinnacle of the dressage world. Now, Salinero has become a Breyer model.

Anky Van Grunsven and Salinero have won the European Dressage Championships, three consecutive FEI World Cups and an individual gold medal in the 2004 Olympics. In 2006, Salinero finished the year as the top dressage horse in the world and Anky was also ranked No. 1 on the FEI/BCM Dressage Riders' World Ranking List according to the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI).

The portrait model of Salinero was sculpted by equine artist Brigitte Eberl of Germany, in her debut for Breyer.  In keeping with Breyer’s tradition of capturing the realistic physical characteristics of the horse, Eberl depicted Salinero at the passage, a highly collected, elevated form of the trot. The model of Salinero will available at retailers this month.
