The other day we got together with some of the staff from our sister publication, Hobby Farms, and had a pumpkin carving party.

Now, there's nothing wrong with the traditional jack-o-lantern face, but using carving stencils allows the artistically-challenged (like me) easily create pumpkiny masterpieces. The going was tough at times, and more than one pumpkin-carving tool bit the dust during the process, but in the end I think we were all pretty pleased with the results.

very cool - i tried to do a horse themed pumpkin and i must say it did not turn out anything like the beautiful ones shared here - ooh well, i guess practise makes perfect - maybe next year Petra Z.
